After nearly a day of emergency care, goalkeeper Sergio Rico's family released a statement on Monday (May 29): "Sergio Rico is stable and in good condition. However, everything must still be extremely careful, especially in the next 48 hours."

On the afternoon of May 30 (Vietnam time), a few hours ago, goalkeeper Sergio Rico's wife, Alba Silva, posted a status that is causing much concern in the football world. "Please don't leave me alone, my love, because I swear I can't. I don't know how to live without you. We love you so much," Alba Silva wrote on Instagram. Along with this message, Alba Silva also posted a black and white photo with goalkeeper Sergio Rico on their wedding day.

Goalkeeper Sergio Rico and Alba Silva got married last year and have a son together. Sergio Rico previously played for Fulham in the Premier League in the 2018-2019 season, after leaving Sevilla.

Sergio Rico joined PSG on loan in September 2019 before signing a long-term contract (4 years) in September 2020 for a transfer fee of 6 million euros. He also spent time on loan at Mallorca before returning to the Paris club this season, but only as a backup to No. 1 goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Last weekend, Sergio Rico was also on the bench as PSG drew 1-1 away to Strasbourg, just enough to win the Ligue 1 title. After this match, coach Christophe Galtier gave PSG players a day off until early this week to return to training. However, on his day off, Sergio Rico returned to his home country of Spain and had an accident.
