British boxer causes outrage after spitting on opponent's coach

Chaotic scenes erupted in Birmingham after Whittaker put all doubts to rest with a second-round knockout win over Cameron in their rematch on April 21.

This is a rematch between the two fighters after a controversial meeting six months ago in Saudi Arabia. They had previously drawn after both fell off the mat and Whittaker had to withdraw for medical reasons.

After this decisive knockout victory, Whittaker (27 years old) could not control his emotions and rushed out of the ring towards Cameron's coach, Mr. Grant Smith.

Amid the chaos, allegations emerged that Whittaker had deliberately spat at Smith. Smith was seen furious and trying to slap the boxer, an image that earned the 27-year-old a lot of criticism from fans.

However, the British boxer vehemently denied this. He admitted that some saliva may have come out of his mouth when he roared to express his emotions and celebrate his victory.

“They’re portraying me as the bad guy, but I fought like hell and roared like a lion. If a little spit came out, it was just spit,” Whittaker shared.

Whittaker's coach Andy Lee also defended his player, saying Whittaker's strong emotional reaction was understandable, especially after the pressure and criticism he faced after the first draw - when some fans accused him of quitting.

"Ben has been through a lot, just to get back in the ring tonight, he's had to endure a lot of abuse. It's natural for him to be a little emotional," Lee said after the match.

Whittaker's victory over Cameron has relieved a lot of pressure on this boxer, who has caused a lot of controversy because of his performance style in the ring.

However, his post-match actions once again caused a stir. Whether he intentionally spat on Coach Smith or not, his unsportsmanlike behavior continued to turn many fans away.
