Kim Lân's work "The Picked-Up Wife" was selected as the source material for the Literature exam in the 2023 high school graduation exam, which took place this morning (June 28).

This morning, over 1 million candidates completed the first exam, Literature. This is also the only subject in the high school graduation exam that uses an essay format, with a time limit of 120 minutes.
The high school graduation exam took place on June 28-29 with over 1 million candidates. Of these, more than 943,300 candidates used their results for both graduation recognition and university/college admissions.
Over the past two years, among approximately 980,000 candidates nationwide taking the Literature exam, the average score was 6.5. A score of 7 was the most common. The number of candidates scoring below average in Literature ranged from 11-12% of the total number of exam takers.
After the Literature exam, candidates will continue with the Mathematics exam this afternoon for 90 minutes. Tomorrow (June 29th), candidates will take the Foreign Language exam in the morning and one of the two combined exams, Natural Sciences or Social Sciences, in the afternoon.
