The C2 mid-range frequency band is being sought and used by many major carriers in the world thanks to its advantages of large bandwidth, strong speed, low latency and effective investment costs, meeting the most advanced 5G networks today.
Winning the auction for the C2 frequency block with VNPT is very important, allowing the group to have many options for network equipment, the most reasonable cost for deploying the 5G network, meeting the strategy of deploying the highest speed 5G network (Vinaphone) in Vietnam.
Along with the 3,700 – 3,800 MHz frequency band, VNPT also owns the 1,800 MHz frequency band. This will be a great advantage in promoting the 5G network in the coming time, while creating the premise for the development of the 6G network in the future.

"The spectrum auction is the first step according to the State's regulations on 5G deployment in Vietnam. After winning the auction for the 3,700 - 3,800 MHz spectrum, VNPT will actively prepare to be able to successfully commercialize 5G soon" - a representative of VNPT Group shared.
To enhance the efficiency of 5G deployment, VNPT will implement a model of infrastructure sharing cooperation with the network operator that wins the 3800-3900 MHz band in the upcoming re-auction. This cooperation not only helps optimize the resources of the network operators but also brings customers the best experience with 5G services.
In recent times, VNPT has carefully and systematically prepared a strategy to develop an ecosystem of digital products and services to maximize the power of 5G.
VNPT Group prioritizes the development of 5G network infrastructure towards improving user experience, providing high speed, large capacity, lowest latency while still optimizing the cost of State investment capital, increasing business efficiency.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) said that the higher the frequency band, the greater the bandwidth, the stronger the speed, the lower the latency and the higher the capacity, but the limited coverage and the more easily obstructed by large physical objects such as buildings and trees.
The world's 5G frequency bands are currently divided into 4 groups, including low-band (under 1,000 MHz), mid-band 1 (1,000 - 2,600 MHz), mid-band 2 (3,500 - 7,000 MHz) and high-band (24,000 - 48,000 MHz).
Each type of frequency band has its own advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, in reality, most network operators try to use many different types of frequency bands at the same time to meet customer needs and optimize service quality.
