VN-Index holds steady at 1,250 points, many groups surpass historical peak price levels

During the week, the index surpassed the 1,250-point mark - the peak of 2023, although selling pressure increased sharply and continuously in the following sessions, at times falling below this mark. However, the buying pressure helped the week to stay firmly in the 1,250-point area.

VN-Index ended the weekend session at 1,258.28 points, up 3.82% compared to the previous week, surpassing the 1,255.11 mark - the highest score in September 2023 and continuing to expect to move towards the price range around 1,275 points, corresponding to the average of 1,255 points of the highest price in September 2023 and 1,295 points of the highest price in August 2022.

During the week, liquidity on HoSE reached VND 116,258 billion, slightly down from the previous week, remaining above average with the average trading volume of VN-Index at more than 900 million shares/session.

The top 10 stocks with positive impacts this week recorded many industry groups. The banking group this week had 3 representatives: VCB, BID and TCB, of which VCB helped the index increase by 11.6 points, the stock with the strongest impact. The next two positions were HPG and FPT with impacts of +3.53 and +2.17 on the index, respectively. The remaining 5 stocks were GVR, MSN, DGC, SSI and MWG, belonging to 5 different industries.

Many groups increased impressively, surpassing historical peak prices, such as securities groups, such as FTS (+18.13%), VDS (+13.97%), BSI (+12.14%), CTS (+11.20%), BVS (+9.73)...

Real estate stocks also had very positive developments, liquidity increased dramatically, notably IJC (+16.03%), PXL (+12.90%), KDH (+10.08%), HDG (+9.65%)..., in addition to PTL (-4.22%), FIR (-2.57%), VPI (-0.63%)... under pressure to adjust.

Construction and building materials stocks also had many codes with strong price increases, surpassing the old peak with sudden trading volume such as LCG (+8.17%), KSB (+5.72%), TV2 (+4.87%), CTD (+4.86%)... Although the group of oil and gas stocks was more diversified, there were still many codes with strong price increases, the most notable being PVD (+12.17%) surpassing the peak price in 2022, PVO (+7.59%), PSH (+6.58%), PVC (+5.59%)...

In the banking group, there is strong differentiation, with rotation keeping the market pace with VCB (+9.45%), TCB (+4.36%), STB (+4.24%)... in addition to PGB (-4.13%), VAB (-2.35%), SGB (-2.22%)...

Some other outstanding stocks include VHC (+13.93%), ANV (+10.79%)... GMD seaport (+15.33%)...; industrial park, rubber SIP (+5.99%), GVR (+5.81%)...; DGC chemicals (+14.00%).

During the week, foreign investors net bought slightly with a value of more than 107 billion VND, of which the strongest purchase was HPG with a value of 621 billion VND, SSI ranked second with a value of 521 billion VND. The leading net selling direction was VN-Diamond fund certificate (stock code: FUEVFVND) with a net sale of 352 billion VND.
