At the end of today's session (October 16), the VN-Index decreased by 1.6 points to 1,279.48 points. The HNX-Index decreased by 0.69 points to 228.26 points. In contrast, the UPCoM-Index increased by 0.15 points to 92.32 points.
Liquidity across the market fell to a record low, with total transaction value on all three exchanges reaching just over VND14,600 billion. On the HoSE alone, liquidity reached over VND13,300 billion.
Foreign investors maintained their net selling momentum on the HoSE for the fourth consecutive session, with a net selling value of more than VND330 billion. Of which, foreign investors sold the most FPT shares with a value of VND69.9 billion.
The selling pressure overwhelmed the buying money flow of investors, causing the stock market to have another session of decline, with the VN-Index losing the 1,280 point mark on October 16 (illustrative photo).
Real estate stocks continued to be sold heavily by investors, as a series of bluechip stocks of this group were in red such as: VIC -0.36%, VRE -0.53%, NVL -2.39%, DIG -1.72%, KDH -1.22%, NLG -2.05%, PDR -1.99%, ... Going against the market trend, QCG stock of Quoc Cuong Gia Lai Joint Stock Company continued to rise when it had its third consecutive ceiling price session.
At the end of the session on October 16, QCG stock price was at VND 9,130/share, up 6.91% compared to the previous session, with matched trading volume reaching 372 thousand units.
In today's session, investors continued to sell a series of bank stocks. Accordingly, SSB -4.02%, LPB -1.4%; stocks MBB, MSB, HDB, STB, TCB, ACB, VIB, SHB, BID ... all decreased by less than 1%.
However, Eximbank's EIB shares increased sharply, increasing by 1.37% to VND18,450/share, with matched volume reaching over 10.7 million units. EIB shares increased again immediately after the bank responded to the information that "the Eximbank system is at risk of collapse", affirming that the document did not originate from the bank.
