On December 9, Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van An chaired a meeting on plans and ideas for managing, exploiting and promoting the value of Dam Vac Lake (Vinh Yen city).
Dam Vac Lake with an area of about 150 hectares is the highlight, the "green heart" of Vinh Yen city, but up to now there is no walking path around it, and its potential and value have not been fully exploited. Therefore, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee has assigned the Provincial People's Committee to direct departments and branches to research, develop ideas for planning, exploiting, protecting and promoting the value of the lake in association with urban development, entertainment areas, residential areas and creating ecological landscapes.
According to the proposal of Vinh Phuc Department of Construction, the project has a total capital of about 1,200 billion VND, to be implemented in 2025 and the period 2026-2028. The project includes a walking path around the lake, a park system and dredging of Dam Vac lake.

The project aims to beautify the urban area, complete the infrastructure and architecture of Dam Vac Lake area and surrounding areas; build parks, create a live stage on the water, and recreate the natural ecosystem.
The dredging of the entire lake bed and the construction of a road system around the lake (total length of about 15km) are to serve people for walking, exercising and playing sports . Some entertainment spots around the lake are built to develop tourism and sightseeing.
At the meeting, some opinions suggested that the Vinh Phuc Department of Construction should continue to research and propose a plan to create connectivity between Dam Vac Lake and other lakes and lagoons in Vinh Yen City; research the wastewater collection system, and plans to control and clean water sources.
Provincial Party Secretary Duong Van An assigned specialized agencies to publicize the planning plan, research and organize a competition for project architectural design, and collect ideas from experts, architects and people.
Mr. An emphasized that the project's groundbreaking on the occasion of the 18th Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Congress aims to demonstrate Vinh Phuc province's rise with the country in the new era.
Vinh Yen districts and city are assigned to review and study the planning of lakes and lagoons in the area to exploit and promote their values, promoting local socio -economic development.
Secretary of Vinh Phuc Provincial Party Committee Duong Van An said that the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee agreed on the policy of having an investment project to renovate Dam Vac Lake to promote the value of the lake by expanding the lake without affecting the life, environment and landscape of the surrounding area.
