According to the statistics of the results of the national excellent student exam for the 2024-2025 school year, Vinh Phuc leads the country with 87/98 candidates winning prizes (88.8%). Of which, 4 are first prizes, 34 are second prizes, 29 are third prizes, and the remaining are consolation prizes. Last year, Vinh Phuc ranked 2nd after Thanh Hoa.
The second-ranked province in the country this year is Hai Duong with 97/110 contestants winning prizes (88.2%).
Third place belongs to Nghe An and Ha Tinh with the same rate of 85.7%. Thanh Hoa ranked 5th with 85.6% with 77/90 participating students winning prizes.
In this year's top 10 are also Nam Dinh, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Hai Phong.
Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City ranked 13th and 14th respectively. Of which, Hanoi had 200/260 students winning prizes, equivalent to 76.9%, down 1.7% compared to last year. Ho Chi Minh City had 166/236 students winning prizes, equivalent to 70.3%, up 4.5%.
The national high school exam for the 2024-2025 school year will be held on December 25 and 26, 2024. There are 6,482 candidates nationwide taking the exam, an increase of 663 students compared to last year.
Candidates took the exam at 68 examination councils with 13 subjects: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Literature, History, Geography, English, Russian, French, Chinese, and Japanese. This year, for the first time, Japanese was included in the exam.
According to the current regulations for selecting excellent students at the national level, the total number of consolation prizes and above must not exceed 60% of the number of contestants; the total number of first, second, and third prizes must not exceed 60% of the total number of prizes; the number of first prizes must not exceed 5% of the total number of prizes.
