Vinh Long: Disciplinary action against group of female students who fought and filmed a clip and posted it on social media

On March 26 and 27, a 26-second clip was circulated on social media, recording two female students fighting in the classroom and another female student using her phone to record it. The incident is said to have occurred at Nguyen Van Thiet High School (Mang Thit District, Vinh Long ).

Speaking to Thanh Nien reporter, Ms. Truong Thanh Nhuan, Director of Vinh Long Department of Education and Training, said that the department has received the information. Initially, the school has reported the incident and the form of handling related students.

According to the report, at around 11:25 a.m. on March 25, female students LA and KT (class 10A3) sought out MH (class 10A7, Nguyen Van Thiet High School) to talk about MH speaking ill of LA. During the conversation, due to not being able to control herself, LA fought with MH and was stopped by a male student. The entire incident was recorded by KC (class 10A7) using her phone.

After that, KC shared the clip with his friends, leading to it being spread. Because school officials and teachers were leaving after school, the incident was not discovered at the time of its occurrence to prevent and handle it in time.

On March 26, the school principal verified the incident, invited students and parents involved to resolve the issue; and asked the students involved to write a report. Based on the student report, the school invited more students involved to work.

During the meeting, the principal analyzed for the students to see the mistakes and the seriousness of the incident, which not only affected the reputation of the industry and the school, but also violated school regulations and the law, so that the students could realize their mistakes and not let the incident happen again.

During the meeting, the school verified the person who filmed the clip and the person who shared it to request deletion, not to continue sharing, and to coordinate with the family to remind andeducate the student not to repeat the offense.

The school applies the form of grading as failing in the second semester for students who directly fight, film and share clips. At the same time, assign homeroom teachers to manage and support the education of students.
