The People's Committee of Quang Ninh province has just held a meeting to discuss solutions to promote, advertise and develop tourism at the end of the year; at the same time, it has planned to arrange 7 pristine island areas with beaches on Ha Long Bay to serve the billionaire and super-luxury segment of the 1% of the world's population.

According to the report of the Department of Tourism of Quang Ninh province, despite the impact of the recent storm No. 3, in the first 9 months of 2024, Quang Ninh welcomed 15.6 million visitors, an increase of 20% over the same period in 2023, equal to 98.1% of the 9-month growth scenario.

In addition, total tourism revenue is estimated at nearly VND 37,000 billion, up 39% over the same period in 2023, reaching 97.8% of the 9-month growth scenario.

Notably, there were nearly 2.6 million international visitors, mainly from markets such as China, South Korea, Taiwan (China), the US, India, France, Australia, the UK, Germany, and Japan.

In the last 3 months of 2024, Quang Ninh province aims to welcome more than a million visitors; including over 900,000 international visitors. At the same time, the locality is determined to complete the target of welcoming 19 million visitors in 2024.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee, requested the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Tourism and related units to urgently put into operation 3 beaches, including: Soi Sim Island, Hang Co, Hang Trinh Nu on Ha Long Bay; organize art performances combined with light parties in some qualified caves on Ha Long Bay; identify 7 pristine island areas and beaches for the billionaire and super-luxury segment of 1% of the world's population. In addition, the locality will organize an event to mark the milestone of welcoming the 17 millionth tourist and the 3 millionth international visitor to Quang Ninh.

Along with that, to expand new tourism products at sea, Quang Ninh province also requested relevant departments and branches to urgently continue to promote and issue plans to develop the fleet; in which, Bai Tu Long Bay strives to reach 100 tourist ships, with newly built high-quality ships.
