67 best press works were honored at the National Press Awards Ceremony on the National Assembly and People's Councils - the first Dien Hong Award, held on the evening of June 9 at the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Cultural Palace (Hanoi).

This is an important and meaningful event taking place right at the time of the 5th Session of the 15th National Assembly, celebrating the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948 - June 11, 2023) and the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2023).
The award ceremony was attended by President Vo Van Thuong; former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue. Also attending were members of the Politburo, Secretaries of the Party Central Committee, leaders of the Government, National Assembly, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, central and local departments, branches, and National Assembly deputies.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent congratulatory flower baskets.

Speaking at the ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue emphasized: "Inheriting and promoting the glorious 77-year tradition of the Vietnamese National Assembly; under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 15th National Assembly has continued to make efforts to innovate and improve the quality of its operations towards increasing democracy, professionalism, and the rule of law, achieving many important and comprehensive results in terms of legislation, supreme supervision, and decision-making on important issues of the country. In localities, the activities of People's Councils at all levels have also been increasingly innovated comprehensively, strongly, responsibly, practically, effectively, and efficiently."

According to the Organizing Committee, after more than 4 months of launching, the first Dien Hong Award received 3,328 press works from 171 domestic and international press agencies, 7 Offices of National Assembly Delegations and People's Councils. The works selected for the Dien Hong Award were invested in carefully, scientifically, and of high quality, demonstrating both content and form. Among them, there are works that are multi-part series, using modern propaganda forms.

The content of the works vividly reflects the theme of the Dien Hong Award. Many works closely follow the process of improving and innovating the organization and operation of the National Assembly and People's Councils, closely follow the breath of life, reflect the thoughts and aspirations of voters and people, propose suggestions to improve the quality and effectiveness of the activities of elected bodies; highlight the position and role of the National Assembly and People's Councils, focus on reflecting the activities of the National Assembly delegation, National Assembly deputies, and People's Council deputies, having a strong influence on society and the public.

According to the evaluation of the Judging Council, this is a quality award, and will be an important press award in the system of revolutionary press awards in our country. The Judging Council consists of prestigious and experienced journalists who have worked actively, meticulously, impartially, and objectively, selecting 67 excellent works to award the first Dien Hong Award, including: 5 A Awards, 13 B Awards, 16 C Awards, 31 Encouragement Awards; 2 awards outside the structure; no Special Award.
In addition, the Organizing Committee selected and awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chief of the National Assembly Office to collectives with outstanding achievements and important contributions to the success of the first Dien Hong Award.

At the end of the award ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man launched the second Dien Hong Award - 2024.
The second Dien Hong Award Ceremony will be held in early January 2024, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2024).
