VinFast surpasses long-time rivals

Billionaire's VinFast Pham Nhat Vuong just announced that in September 2024, 9,300 cars were delivered, surpassing international car brands such as Toyota, Mitsubishi, Kia, Ford and Honda to become the best-selling car brand in Vietnam.

According to data from the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), during the same period, Toyota sold only 6,986 cars, Mitsubishi sold 5,385 cars, Kia sold 4,015 cars, Ford sold 3,967 cars and Honda sold 3,607 cars.

This is an impressive achievement not only for VinFast but also a testament to the clear shift of Vietnamese consumers from traditional gasoline cars to electric cars.

What is special is that all of VinFast's sales of more than 9,300 cars in September came from models. electric cars, including the VF e34, VF 3, VF 5, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8 and VF 9 models.

The success of VinFast shows that the Vietnamese market is gradually opening up to electric vehicles, which were previously an unfamiliar product and only suitable for developed countries.

Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, CEO of VinFast Vietnam Automobile, shared that strong consumer support was an important factor helping VinFast achieve this milestone.

He affirmed that the company will continue to make efforts to maintain growth momentum and achieve the target of selling 80,000 vehicles in 2024.

Notably, VinFast also aims to not only be the best-selling car company in the country but also expand to international markets, affirming its global position.

Explaining the record sales of Vietnamese car companies

According to auto experts, one of the factors that helped VinFast achieve great success in the Vietnamese market is the diversity of its product portfolio, covering everything from compact cars to high-end SUVs.

Outstanding models such as VF e34, VF 5, VF 6, VF 7 and VF 9 are all equipped with advanced technology, powerful performance, and especially prices suitable for a variety of consumers.

The VF 3 model is one of VinFast's key products in competition with traditional car manufacturers.

With a price starting from 240 million VND for the battery rental version and 322 million VND for the battery version, VF 3 has attracted great attention from consumers thanks to its ability to travel up to 215km per charge.

In addition, VinFast is also preparing to launch a completely new "tiny" electric car model, smaller than the VF 3, with a compact, two-seat design, aimed at crowded urban areas.

This model is expected to become the next trump card to help VinFast expand its influence not only in Vietnam but also in the international market.

Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, Chairman of Vingroup, once emphasized that the development of this compact electric vehicle line is not only a domestic strategy but also aims at the needs of large markets around the world, where urban mobility is a big challenge for large vehicles.
