The Robotacon WRO 2024 competition has found outstanding robot players to represent Vietnam in the world competition. In addition, technology talents were also awarded many special prizes from Vinamilk.
Special Award for Environmental Robot Creators
The project of creating a robot to help process and store clean water for the saltwater flooded areas in the Southwest region by the Dong Hanh team (from My Phuoc Secondary School, Binh Duong) has excellently won the championship of group B4 (Future Innovator) in the Robotacon WRO 2024 competition. They became one of the teams representing Vietnam to participate in the world robot competition which will take place in Türkiye and Singapore this coming November, and also won the "Raising the bar" award presented by Vinamilk to teams with breakthrough creativity.

Vinamilk's "Raising the bar" award focuses on sustainable development technology, for teams that successfully complete unexpected challenges inspired by Vinamilk; and teams with creative ideas to solve urgent environmental problems, to encourage a progressive spirit, ready to break through one's own abilities.
Nguyen Ngoc Mai An, a member of the Companion team, shared that the reason the team chose the project of a robot to process and store clean water for people in the Southwest region was because they wanted to contribute a small part to improving the drought and salinity situation here, helping people to have less trouble when having to save every drop of water for daily use. "It was a surprise that our team's model received the "Raising the bar" award from Vinamilk. We never thought we would receive this award and we really appreciate the award because it encourages ideas for the environment and sustainable development," Mai An added.

"I have directly experienced the exciting and fierce atmosphere of the competition and am extremely surprised by the students' talents in programming, automation and creativity. This makes me more confident in the future generations of Vietnam. I hope that you will always nurture the spirit of "Boldness", "Determination" and "Always be yourself" in your creative learning journey, to continuously create success not only for yourself, but also to help the community and life become better", Mr. Nguyen Quang Tri, Marketing Executive Director of Vinamilk, shared.

The greatest reward is knowledge and experience
Accompanying the competition for more than a month before the new school year, Vinamilk and the organizing committee brought contestants a playground for thinking, approaching the practical application of robots in sustainable development activities, through examples at Vinamilk Green Farm and Vinamilk's modern factories. From there, contributing to inspiring, stimulating creativity and finding solutions, applying technology to production and life activities towards environmental protection and sustainable development.
Through that, students also understand more that it is not just about winning a competition, the biggest "reward" they get is a journey of creativity, experience, knowledge acquisition and discovery of their own abilities.

Vinamilk Green Farm is the main brand partner of this event. In addition to being provided with nutrition to compete at their best, the young athletes also learned about the sustainable agricultural practices of Green Farm and Vinamilk's modern factory.
For example, at Vinamilk's largest liquid milk factory, automatic LGV robots are used to transport, lift and stack finished product pallets into the warehouse. These robots are programmed to automatically calculate the most optimal travel path, helping to save energy and reduce emissions. These applications are also the inspiration for the organizers to design surprise exam questions for the contestants of Robotacon WRO 2024. Access to real-life examples from Vinamilk farms and factories helps students better understand sustainable development.
More than 20,000 Vinamilk products were donated to support robot contestants during the 1-month competition.
Commenting on the quality of this year's competition, Mr. Pham Ngoc Tien, Head of the Robotacon WRO 2024 Technical Advisory Board , commented: "The topics bring challenges in both design skills, robot programming, logical thinking, teamwork skills, problem solving and social understanding for Robotacon warriors. In particular, this year there is a surprise exam simulating operations at factories and green farms, challenging the teams' ability to respond to find technological solutions for production, sustainable development, and raising awareness of environmental protection."
Accompanying her child continuously from the Southern final round and the national final round, Ms. Nhu Quynh (parent of Hung Anh - HONGBANG1 group, also the champion of Robotacon in 2023 and top 6 of the world final in Panama), shared : "Every year's competition has many surprises and innovations. This year, the organizers also coordinated with Vinamilk to take the children to visit the farm and factory. I think it will help the children gain more knowledge such as how the milk cartons they often drink are made and how to apply what they are learning about robots and automation in real life. I feel it is very interesting and meaningful".
This year, the Robotatcon WRO competition has found the 13 best teams (8-19 years old) to represent Vietnam to participate in the World Robot Olympiad in Turkey (in November 2024); and 20 teams (6-10 years old) to represent Vietnam to participate in the international robot creation competition in Singapore with the companionship of Vinamilk.
