As of September 13, the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel) supported people and customers affected by storm Yagi with a total value of about 100 billion VND.
Viettel contributed 20 billion VND to the Ministry of National Defense's fund and 80 billion VND in services provided to people directly affected by natural disasters.
Viettel directly supported service fees into the accounts of more than 2 million customers and established emergency contact for people and rescue teams in severely affected areas. Viettel prioritized establishing new contact and providing hundreds of phone SIM cards in communes and districts where landslides occurred to ensure communication for rescue teams, such as Phuc Khanh commune, Nam Luc commune (Lao Cai), Ca Thanh commune (Cao Bang).
Along with support for communication connections, Viettel has made about 3,000 trips, transporting about 7,500 tons of goods and necessities to provinces affected by the storm. Viettel maintains post offices to receive goods and necessities from organizations and individuals supporting the people. Along with that, Viettel serves 500 phone charging points in areas with power outages.
Up to now, Viettel network has been completely restored in the northern mountainous provinces. According to the actual situation, Viettel continues to support customers in areas affected by storms and floods.
