At MWC 2024, Viettel introduced the 5G DFE chip, which was designed entirely by Viettel engineers.
On February 26, at the opening session of the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2024) in Barcelona, Viettel officially introduced to the global technology community the 5G chipset and the virtual assistant Vi An - Human AI. These are 2 of 17 products representing the technology ecosystem introduced by Viettel at the largest annual event in the mobile technology industry in 2024. This is the 7th time Viettel has participated in the Conference as the only technology enterprise in Vietnam. With the theme of the event - Future first, Viettel's products focus on 4 groups: Network infrastructure; database; digital platform and future technology. The series of products are displayed in a 2-storey space with the theme S-Nation. The letter S represents the meanings: Smart - smart, Sustainable - sustainable, and the S-shape of Vietnam. At MWC 2024, Viettel introduced the 5G DFE chip, which was designed by Viettel engineers. Viettel's 5G DFE chip is capable of calculating 1,000 billion calculations per second, meeting the common 5G standard of 3GPP - an association of organizations developing protocols for mobile telecommunications, equivalent to 5G chips of the top 10 semiconductor companies in the world. Along with that, Viettel introduced a network system that automatically optimizes performance, saves energy and automatically resolves application problems for both 5G and 4G, which is being comprehensively and optimally deployed in Vietnam and 10 countries where Viettel is investing and doing business. The storage and processing infrastructure group includes Viettel Cloud - providing services from storage/processing infrastructure, application development platform and software for organizations and businesses. The ecosystem owned by Vietnam plays a role in protecting digital sovereignty, creating an infrastructure for storing data of Vietnamese people and Vietnamese businesses in Vietnam. With a group of digital application/service products, Viettel brings to MWC 2024 AI applications that interact with customers, finance, and entertainment. Vi An - Vietnam's first Human AI creates a new way of interacting with artificial intelligence. At MWC, Vi An chats with customers in a friendly and natural way. In addition, Viettel's digital financial platform (VDFP) - supports the development of digital financial applications with non-Internet payment features, bringing digital finance to areas with limited fixed and mobile network connections. The group of products that change the way people use technology in the future includes Digital Twin, creating virtual spaces based on AI technology, IoT, and remote sensing data. Viettel is researching and developing this technology to optimize urban operations.Viettel introduces virtual assistant Vi An - Human AI, which can interact and answer fluently the most updated fields in English, and especially can listen and understand in all major languages in the world.
Viettel Deputy General Director Nguyen Dinh Chien shared: “Attending this conference, we are ready to cooperate strategically with technology corporations around the world and transfer technology with partners to jointly create the highest quality products to serve customers. That is the difference of Viettel at this global technology event”. Mobile World Congress 2024 (MWC 2024) is held in Barcelona, Spain, from February 26 to February 29, 2024. This is the largest annual event in the mobile industry. This year's event will feature 2,400 technology businesses, expected to attract nearly 85,000 direct visitors. Mr. Nguyen Thien Nghia, Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Information and Communications Technology Industry (Ministry of Information and Communications) said that the characteristic of the semiconductor industry is that all stages in the production of semiconductor products such as design, processing, packaging, equipment, materials, etc. are very specialized and have clear roles. Promoting a business ecosystem to support chip manufacturing enterprises will help Vietnam increase its attractiveness to large chip manufacturing corporations, making Vietnam a country with many chip manufacturing activities in the supply chain. More and more capable enterprises are participating in the supporting industry for chip manufacturing. "Currently, the Ministry of Information and Communications is being assigned by the Government to preside over the development of a strategy for the development of the microchip industry for Vietnam. The drafting committee, including key stakeholders such as ministries and sectors such as the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, large enterprises and corporations, experts and associations, is assessing the current situation in Vietnam and the world, analyzing potential and development trends to make appropriate proposals for the Vietnamese microchip industry," said Mr. Nguyen Thien Nghia.
