On the evening of April 23, the work “70 years of Capital Liberation: Sacred and Glorious Hanoi” by VietnamPlus Electronic Newspaper was honored in the category of “Best Innovative Digital Product” within the framework of the Digital Media Awards Asia 2025 (Digital Media Awards -DMA) organized by the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).

The work receiving the DMA 2025 award was launched on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024). It is one of the first interactive 3D products of Vietnamese journalism, bringing a completely new experience to readers.

At www.vietnamplus.vn/70namhanoi , historical stories will be told vividly in a different form, allowing readers to immerse themselves in the story. The heroic history of the capital Hanoi in particular, and of the nation in general, is told through unique interactive 3D technology, with mouse scrolls (on desktop) or by "swiping" on the smartphone screen.

From the 3D model of Hanoi Flag Tower, the symbol of the 70th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital, readers can trace back important historical milestones, from the moment President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, then the Call for National Resistance in December 1946, to the resounding Dien Bien Phu Victory that shook the world, opening the day of triumph exactly 70 years ago.

In addition to the above options, readers can also explore other diverse topics, ranging from history, economics to cultural slices of Hanoi's land and people, through the special Mega Story series. Through that, we will have a general picture of a Hanoi that is both sacred and splendid, worthy of being the place where the soul of the mountains and rivers rests, the heart of the whole country...

This is the second time VietnamPlus has received the prestigious award from WAN-IFRA. Previously, on September 28, 2014, the editorial office’s rap news (RapNewsPlus) received the first prize in the special category “Digital First” honoring news publishers who have taken creative measures to attract young people to participate through mobile phones, tablets and other electronic devices.
