In particular, Vietnam Airlines will coordinate with Son La province to promote information about destinations and annual events of the province on flights, publications, ticket offices, representative offices, and domestic and international activities of the airline. Vietnam Airlines will also bring typical agricultural products and specialties of Son La province that meet aviation standards on flights. The two sides agreed to co-organize and participate in national and regional educational, cultural, sports, tourism, investment and trade programs and events. Vietnam Airlines and Son La province will also coordinate to develop preferential policies for large enterprises and partners in the province's programs and projects. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Dang Ngoc Hoa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Airlines emphasized: "Son La province is located in a strategic position in the Northwest region, with important significance in terms of nature, economy, society and security - defense. Not only possessing a favorable location, Son La is also a land with great potential for tourism development, green agriculture and has a lot of room for economic growth. As a national airline, an enterprise belonging to the Central Enterprise Sector, with our position and potential, we are committed to comprehensive and strong cooperation with Son La in the coming years to contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of the province. Thereby, Vietnam Airlines affirms the role of state-owned enterprises in general and Vietnam Airlines in particular. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of Son La Provincial People's Committee said: "Son La province is strengthening tourism promotion and advertising in a focused and key direction, promoting the application of advanced technology, promoting the growth of international and domestic tourists in both quantity and quality. Mobilizing and attracting resources to increase investment in infrastructure and tourism techniques in a focused and key direction. In particular, Moc Chau National Tourist Area and Son La Hydroelectric Reservoir Area are used as the driving force for the development of other tourist areas and destinations. In addition, the province also promotes Son La's agricultural specialties to the domestic and foreign communities, focusing on developing high-quality products that are eligible for export to demanding markets. Previously, Vietnam Airlines cooperated with Son La province to support the consumption of safe specialty agricultural products such as adding longan (in 2022) and plum (in 2023) to meals served on flights and in airport lounges, which were highly appreciated by passengers. In January 2024, Vietnam Airlines coordinated with the People's Committee of Mai Son district (Son La) to organize a conference to promote, advertise and introduce Mai Son strawberry products. The airline also signed with two cooperatives, Ichi Farm and Son Trang Farm of Mai Son district; Huong Bac Son enterprise of Moc Chau district to transport about 1,000 tons of strawberries in this year's crop. The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Comprehensive Cooperation between Vietnam Airlines and the People's Committee of Son La province is a solid premise for both sides to promote their strengths, aiming to turn the locality into a growth pole in the Northwest. The agreement affirms the efforts of the National Airlines in its journey to contribute to the country's socio-economic development. On the same day, within the framework of the visit and working session of the Central Business Bloc Party Committee with the People's Committee of Son La province, Vietnam Airlines donated funds from contributions of individuals and groups of Vietnam Airlines Corporation to support Yen Chau district in building 10 new gratitude houses, contributing to building a strong community, towards the goal of sustainable development.
