This is a strategic step to promote Vietnam's image, becoming a top destination for Chinese tourists and promoting tourism recovery after the pandemic.

On November 8 in Chongqing, China, within the framework of the program "Introducing Vietnam Tourism" organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vietnam Airlines signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation with GuangZhou Yuanzhilv Technology Tourism Company.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of the two countries' departments witnessed the signing ceremony, opening a new chapter in tourism cooperation between Vietnam and China, with the goal of attracting nearly 300,000 Chinese tourists to Vietnam in the next six years.

This MOU not only demonstrates the commitment of Vietnam Airlines and GuangZhou Yuanzhilv Technology to increasing the number of Chinese tourists, but also marks a strategic step forward in promoting Vietnam as an attractive destination.

In the agreement, the two sides committed to extensive cooperation from aviation services, destination marketing, to experience sharing activities, event organization, aiming to build a diverse and rich image of Vietnam in the eyes of international tourists.

The signing event is part of the "Introducing Vietnam Tourism" program, one of the key initiatives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to bring Vietnamese tourism to the world.

Within the framework of the program, many Vietnamese businesses introduced new destinations, unique cultural heritages, along with a diverse service system, creating conditions for Chinese visitors to have a deeper insight into Vietnam and further strengthen the cultural and economic relationship between the two countries.

China has long been an important market for Vietnam's tourism industry. After a long hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 2024 will witness a spectacular recovery of this market.

According to data from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the number of Chinese visitors to Vietnam in the first nine months of the year reached 2.7 million, up 141.4% year-on-year. Vietnam Airlines also transported 483,000 Chinese visitors during this period, 2.4 times higher than the same period last year.

The airline currently operates five routes from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to major cities such as Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai.

Faced with increasing tourism demand, Vietnam Airlines plans to increase flight frequency, open new routes and promote the use of wide-body aircraft to expand service capacity.

At the same time, the company will cooperate with Chinese partners to build creative promotional campaigns, not only focusing on famous destinations in Vietnam but also introducing potential lands rich in cultural identity to attract Chinese tourists to learn and experience.

Not only does it attract hundreds of thousands of tourists, the memorandum of understanding also creates opportunities to develop cultural exchanges, helping to strengthen the sustainable cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China.

With long-term commitments and strategies, Vietnam Airlines and GuangZhou Yuanzhilv Technology expect to make Vietnam a favorite destination for Chinese tourists, while also offering Vietnamese people more attractive options in China.
