In cases where passengers needed assistance, the flight crew and airline representatives actively supported, took care of their health and took them to the hospital promptly.

Previously, on July 10, a foreign passenger on flight VN611 from Hanoi to Bangkok showed symptoms of vomiting, fatigue, and chest pain. The passenger said he had a history of heart attack and was not carrying any medication with him.

As soon as the flight attendants discovered that the passenger was showing signs of ill health, they immediately provided first aid to the passenger and called for help from other passengers. The flight crew also quickly contacted Bangkok air traffic control to request medical assistance immediately after landing.

Upon receiving the notification, Vietnam Airlines representatives in Bangkok contacted the airport emergency department to be ready to receive and take the passenger to the hospital. Thanks to the smooth and timely coordination between the flight crew, ground staff and medical units, the passenger was promptly taken to the airport hospital for emergency treatment. At present, the passenger's health has stabilized.

Another recent case was on flight VN311 from Japan to Hanoi, baby MA (7 months old) traveling with his parents showed signs of anemia, fatigue, a history of jaw disease causing difficulty breathing and dilated ventricles. Upon receiving information from the captain, Vietnam Airlines representative at Noi Bai quickly contacted the port doctor for support on the ship, and coordinated with related units to ensure the safety of baby MA.

At 1:35 p.m., after leaving the plane, baby MA and her mother were quickly helped through immigration by airline staff and taken to the hospital in an emergency situation: difficulty breathing, low blood oxygen levels, and purple skin.

With timely support, the baby was taken to the hospital, given oxygen and overcame the critical condition. The baby's luggage and passports and the parents' were also facilitated so that the baby's father could quickly receive them and go to the hospital with his child.

At 4:00 p.m. the same day, baby MA was transferred to the National Children's Hospital and his health showed many positive improvements.

Vietnam Airlines has established a professional and scientific passenger health care process in case passengers encounter unusual health problems.

"The baby's family has sent their deep thanks to the airline, flight attendants and ground staff for their enthusiastic support, helping the baby to be taken to the hospital quickly and promptly," said a representative of Vietnam Airlines, and recommended that during peak season and hot weather, passengers need to pay attention to health issues when flying.

In particular, passengers with chronic diseases or a history of cardiovascular disease, blood pressure, etc. need to proactively monitor and ensure their health before taking the flight. Passengers should carry preventive medicine prescribed by a doctor in their carry-on luggage so that they can use it immediately if necessary.

Vietnam Airlines affirms that the airline always puts the safety and health of passengers first. This is the reason why the airline has had to change its operating plan many times before, such as making an emergency landing at the nearest airport to provide timely first aid to passengers, even though it may cause financial losses.

Currently, the airline has developed a professional and scientific passenger health care process in case passengers encounter unusual health problems. Flight attendants will call for help from a doctor if necessary if they are on the flight.

At the same time, the airline's crew is also trained in first aid in appropriate situations using emergency kits that are always available on board.
