This is an annual global event, gathering more than 800 guests representing leaders of airlines and international organizations in the aviation sector around the world.
The fact that IATA chose Vietnam as the venue and Vietnam Airlines as the host airline for the event shows the influence and position of Vietnam as well as the National Airline in the international aviation market.
In addition, the presence of world aviation leaders and representatives at the same event opens up a special opportunity for Vietnam Airlines to convey the beauty and attraction of the country, thereby promoting the expansion of its flight network, connecting many fields and industries such as economics, politics, culture, tourism, etc. between Vietnam and the world.
Aviation safety is one of the important topics that IATA focuses on and organizes annually through each individual event. This year, the 2023 World Aviation Safety and Operations Conference with the theme “Leadership in Action: Promoting Safer and More Efficient Operations” will be the first time that IATA organizes a comprehensive event on the overall safety work of the aviation industry.
More specifically, the conference took place at a time when ensuring absolute safety was a top priority as airlines focused all their resources on resuming operations to recover from the pandemic.
Mr. Le Hong Ha, General Director of Vietnam Airlines shared: “ Safety is the highest priority of the aviation industry and is the core foundation of all activities of Vietnam Airlines. As an official member of IATA, we are honored to host the 2023 World Aviation Safety and Operations Conference, affirming the capacity and position of the national airline as well as the Vietnamese aviation industry.
Tourism is the key to promoting strong economic development, in which the aviation industry makes a significant contribution, directly supporting the goals of economic recovery, trade, cultural exchange... between countries.
We hope this global event will be an opportunity for industry leaders and aviation regulators to propose solutions to issues related to safety, operations and infrastructure to improve flight safety for the world aviation industry ."
“ We look forward to the 2023 World Aviation Safety and Operations Conference in Hanoi, which will bring together a global, international community of aviation safety experts. As the host airline, Vietnam Airlines is demonstrating its strong commitment to our common goal of sharing and improving aviation safety knowledge and understanding,” said Willie Walsh, IATA Director General.
As an official member of IATA since 2006, Vietnam Airlines has successfully renewed its IOSA Operational Safety Certificate for the 10th consecutive time, ensuring that all system operations fully comply with IOSA standards based on 4 core pillars: Ensuring the reliability of the Safety - Quality assurance program; Standardizing assessment work; Ensuring continuous compliance with IOSA standards and Focusing on implementation.
Participating in the World Aviation Safety and Operations Conference 2023 as host will be an opportunity for Vietnam Airlines to emphasize and raise awareness of the special importance of ensuring safety in operations.
