At the Vietnam - United Arab Emirates (UAE) Business Dialogue held on the afternoon of October 28, Vietnam Airlines presented a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral cooperation with two of the world's leading airlines, Etihad Airways and Emirates.
In the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and a high-ranking delegation, Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, on behalf of the airline, presented memorandums of understanding on cooperation to Etihad Airways and Emirates. |
This event was held within the framework of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's official visit to the UAE, marking an important step forward in expanding the cooperation network of the national airline - Vietnam Airlines with countries in the Middle East, contributing to promoting trade, tourism connection and economic development between Vietnam and the UAE.
Under the memorandum of understanding, Vietnam Airlines and Etihad Airways will develop bilateral relations in both passenger and cargo sectors to enhance connectivity between Abu Dhabi and Vietnam, helping to expand the flight network of both airlines.
The two parties will also explore cooperation in developing a frequent flyer program between Lotusmiles and Etihad Guest, as well as cooperation in ground services, maintenance, supplies and engineering.
In addition, Vietnam Airlines and Etihad will evaluate cooperation opportunities in cargo transportation, marketing and communications; share experiences in information technology related to digital transformation, e-commerce, big data and cybersecurity.
For Emirates, Vietnam Airlines will strengthen cooperation on routes between Vietnam and the UAE as well as to transit points; cooperation in cargo services; technical and maintenance services; training, experience sharing to develop human resources and knowledge exchange between the two airlines.
These cooperations will help promote the strengths of each side, improve the quality of transportation services and increase the efficiency of airlines. In addition, the cooperation also contributes to promoting trade between Vietnam and the UAE, opening up many development opportunities in the aviation sector and related industries of the two countries.
Emirates and Etihad are the two airlines of the UAE, a federation of seven emirates, most notably Abu Dhabi (the capital) and Dubai (the largest commercial and tourism center). Emirates was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Dubai. Etihad Airways was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Abu Dhabi. These are both globally reputable airlines, known for their high-quality services and extensive international flight networks.
Vietnam Airlines is the national airline of Vietnam, established in 1993. Owning a modern fleet of more than 100 aircraft, the airline provides air transport services on nearly 100 domestic and international routes, connecting to 1,150 global destinations in its flight network.
