Vietjet explains the reason
This is the latest information shared by Vietjet on the afternoon of April 22 after many of the airline's flights were affected by delays and cancellations at Tan Son Nhat and other airports. According to Vietjet, on April 20 and 21, some of Vietjet's flights to and from Tan Son Nhat airport had to adjust their flight schedules.
Saigon Ground Services Joint Stock Company - SAGS handed over all ground services to Vietjet at 0:00 on April 20, right at the peak time, right when Terminal T3 was put into operation, causing congestion both inside and outside the terminal. As reported by Tuoi Tre Online , over the past two days, many flights of various airlines have been unexpectedly delayed or canceled at Tan Son Nhat. Some flights were delayed from 3-10 hours, and after many times of changing the time, they were suddenly canceled.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has set up an inspection team. Airlines and related units are promoting a solution. Many flights on the afternoon of April 22 have gradually started operating stably.
Vietjet: Will compensate with vouchers
In a press release, Vietjet said that affected passengers would be supported and compensated by the airline according to regulations. The airline apologized to passengers on the affected flight.
In addition to the airport support policy, Vietjet said that customers affected on domestic flights will receive 500,000 VND and international flights will receive 1 million VND.
This amount is sent as an E-voucher. The policy applies to flights affected by 2 hours or more on April 20 and 21. The E-voucher is valid until June 30.
