VietJet affirms: Will compensate customers with goodwill for delayed or canceled flights

On the afternoon of April 22, information from VietJet Air said that on April 20 and April 21, 2025, some flights to and from Tan Son Nhat Airport of the airline had to adjust their flight schedules. The reason is due to the handover of ground services from Saigon Ground Services Company (SAGS) to the airline for self-service.

Specifically, VietJet said that SAGS handed over all ground services to VietJet at 0:00 on April 20, 2025, which is also the peak season, the airline is rushing to prepare to move to the new terminal T3. In addition, the process of adjusting the operating plan before the peak season of April 30 and May 1, the high number of passengers with many activities at Tan Son Nhat airport and Ho Chi Minh City also caused many flights to have to adjust their plans.

More than 1,000 VietJet airport ground staff started serving passengers from April 20.

Vietjet also promptly requested and received timely coordination from the Southern Port Authority, Tan Son Nhat Airport, Tan Son Nhat Border Gate Police, Tan Son Nhat Customs, SAGS, SASCO, SCSC... The company reported to the Civil Aviation Authority and received timely support from the authorities.

Vietjet has been licensed and self-served ground at Noi Bai airport since August 2020 with hundreds of thousands of safe flights. From April 20 this year, Vietjet started self-serving at Tan Son Nhat airport.

Today, April 22, operations at Tan Son Nhat and related airports are stabilizing again, ready to serve safe flights during the upcoming peak days for the holidays.

The airline would like to sincerely apologize to passengers on affected flights. To support and share with passengers, in addition to support policies at the airport, Vietjet respectfully sends E-vouchers (equivalent to cash) as compensation with the following value: VND 500,000 for each passenger on domestic flights; VND 1,000,000 for each passenger on international flights.

The policy applies to flights affected for 2 hours or more on April 20 and April 21, 2025.
