VietinBank launches cross-border payment service for Thai tourists

Thailand is one of the favorite destinations of Vietnamese tourists. With the goal of providing an additional convenient payment channel for customers when traveling to Thailand, VietinBank has deployed a cross-border payment service using QR Pay code.

Accordingly, customers only need to have a VND account opened at VietinBank and install the digital banking application for individual customers VietinBank iPay to be able to pay at 5 million points accepting payment by QR Pay code in Thailand with just a few simple steps.

In particular, customers do not need to carry out any procedures or documents for foreign currency trading but can still easily pay in Baht from VietinBank's VND account with a special preferential exchange rate. Moreover, the daily QR Pay swiping limit is up to nearly 500 million VND, meeting customers' spending and shopping needs.

VietinBank is currently the pioneer bank in implementing cross-border payment services, aiming to better support customers in their journey of using the service. Payment by QR Pay in Thailand only with the VietinBank iPay application is considered a breakthrough step of VietinBank in constantly improving products and services towards digitalization and bringing optimal experience to users.

Currently, there are 7 leading Thai banks participating in QR Pay payment connection with VietinBank, including: Bankok Bank, Siam Commercial Bank, Kasikorn Bank, Krung Thai Bank, Bank of Ayudhya, CIMB, Citi Bank. The list of connected banks will be continuously expanded and updated by VietinBank in the near future.
