The 2024 extraordinary shareholders' meeting of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade (VietinBank - stock code: CTG) approved the important content of electing 2 additional members to the Board of Directors. The 2 new members of the bank's Board of Directors are Mr. Nguyen Tran Manh Trung and Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung.
Immediately after joining the Board of Directors, Mr. Nguyen Tran Manh Trung was appointed concurrently as General Director. His tenure is 5 years, starting from October 17.
The new General Director of VietinBank was born in 1983, has a bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance from National Economics University and a master's degree in Banking and Finance from Banking Academy.

Since 2005, he started working at VietinBank as a corporate customer relations officer. After that, he held other positions such as Acting Head of Business Operations Management Department, Deputy Director of the Block, Head of Large Corporate Customers Department, Director of VietinBank Hanoi Branch... In September 2022, he held the position of Deputy General Director of the bank.
The Congress also approved the election of Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung, former Secretary of the Governor of the State Bank, as a member of the Board of Directors of VietinBank for the 2024 - 2029 term.
In 2013, Mr. Dung started working at the State Bank as an interest rate specialist, Monetary Policy Department. In September 2014, he was transferred to the position of Deputy Governor's Secretary. In June 2016, he became Deputy Governor's Secretary - Head of Department. In November 2020, he became Governor's Secretary - Deputy Head of Department and from March 2022, he was appointed to the position of Secretary of the Governor of the State Bank.
At the extraordinary shareholders' meeting, Mr. Tran Minh Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of VietinBank, also said that after 9 months, the bank's total assets increased by 9.7% compared to 2023, and outstanding credit increased by 9%.
