Thanh Hoa province—a special piece of Vietnam, "the sanctuary preserving all the hopes of the nation"—played a crucial role in writing that victory song. Thach Thanh is more than just the name of a mountainous district in the northern part of Thanh Hoa province. Imagining Thach Thanh of the past evokes even greater affection for this land steeped in historical, cultural, and revolutionary traditions. Witnessing the daily transformation of this place, we clearly feel the new vitality and energy that is blossoming here.

In recent years, Thach Thanh district has achieved remarkable results, maximizing its potential and advantages. Indicators such as per capita income, advanced education, and high-performance sports consistently lead other mountainous districts in the province. The economy has consistently achieved a relatively high growth rate, with a positive shift in its economic structure. The district has made significant breakthroughs in attracting investment; industry and small-scale handicrafts have gradually yielded results, creating new impetus for economic development; and tourism is thriving. Essential infrastructure projects serving daily life and production continue to receive investment and upgrades from the district and communes; the appearance of new rural areas is gradually taking shape, becoming increasingly spacious, bright, green, clean, beautiful, safe, and civilized.

In the first six months of 2024, Thach Thanh's state budget revenue achieved positive results, increasing by 42.18% compared to the same period last year. Investment and business development activities received focused guidance; attracting investment capital in the first six months is estimated at over 408 billion 934 million VND. Thanks to diversified activities and improved product quality, Thach Thanh's tourism has attracted a large number of locals and tourists in recent years; total revenue from tourism activities is estimated at 15.41 billion VND, an increase of 9.5% compared to the same period last year. The system, organizational structure, and personnel have been strengthened and consolidated; the role of Party committees, government agencies, and mass organizations has been enhanced, and people's trust in the policies and leadership of the Party and government has been increased. Economic, cultural, and social infrastructure has developed strongly, contributing to changing the appearance of rural areas into a more modern, clean, and beautiful place. The material and spiritual lives of the people have improved...

The National Target Program for Building New Rural Areas in Thach Thanh district has spread strongly and widely. The Party Committee, government, and people of Thach Thanh district have demonstrated high spirits, efforts, and determination to achieve the goal of becoming a new rural district by 2025. Mr. Vu Van Dat, Provincial Party Committee member and Secretary of the Thach Thanh District Party Committee, said: “Closely adhering to the goals and tasks of the province in the new era, Thach Thanh identifies building a new rural district by 2025 as a key task for the entire political system and society.” The Resolution of the 25th Congress of the Thach Thanh District Party Committee, term 2020-2025, especially the promulgation of Resolution No. 07-NQ/HU dated June 6, 2022, of the District Party Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership in building Thach Thanh into a new rural district by 2025, clearly reflects that viewpoint and goal.

Resolution No. 07-NQ/HU of the Thach Thanh District Party Committee clearly states: The process of building new rural areas consistently implements the motto "the people are the main actors in building new rural areas"; launching the movement "jointly and wholeheartedly building new rural areas". Strengthening the study and replication of good models and advanced examples of building new rural areas in the district. The assignment of responsibilities and the organization of the implementation of standards and criteria must be specific, clearly defining responsibilities and tasks, using the output as a measure of the level of task completion by organizations and individuals participating in the process of building new rural areas. The Secretary of the Thach Thanh District Party Committee emphasized: We set specific goals with concrete figures and are highly determined to mobilize maximum resources and implement comprehensive solutions to realize those goals. But this does not mean we should "sugarcoat" or be superficial, or be willful; even the smallest actions must be substantive and create sustainable value. "The State and the People work together," which both promotes the role of the people as the main actors and ensures that the people are also the beneficiaries of the results."

From Thach Thanh down to Quang Xuong – a place marked by many significant historical events. The banyan tree in Si village still stands tall, casting its shade, a vivid testament to the tenacious revolutionary struggle of the army and people of Quang Xuong during the days leading up to the uprising to seize power. Quang Trung commune – the birthplace of People's Armed Forces Hero Nguyen Ba Ngoc and also the site of a fierce battle that lasted nearly 3,000 days and nights to defend the Ghep ferry – a vital artery on the North-South axis during the resistance war against the US… That spirit, that momentum, has been continued from the past to the present, becoming an important driving force and "internal strength" for Quang Xuong district to continue striving. With many efforts and practical and effective actions, in recent years, Quang Xuong district has always been one of the bright spots in infrastructure investment, attracting investment, and building new rural areas…

Despite facing numerous difficulties and challenges during the first six months of the year, Quang Xuong district achieved outstanding results in socio-economic development, national defense and security, Party building, and the political system. Five targets were met, and four targets exceeded the annual plan as set forth in the District People's Council Resolution. The economy continued to grow; the economic structure shifted in a positive direction; and culture, society, and education showed many notable achievements. Land clearance results reached 129% of the district plan and 78.74% of the provincial plan for the whole year, 2.13 times higher than the same period last year.

It is known that Quang Xuong is one of the localities with the highest volume of land clearance in the province, second only to Nghi Son town. The achievement and exceeding of the land clearance plan demonstrates the proactive, decisive, and flexible approach of the Party committees and government at all levels, as well as the great unity and consensus of the people towards the common goal of building and developing their homeland. As a result, the district's socio-economic infrastructure has been invested in and upgraded comprehensively, creating a significant difference compared to the beginning of the term. In particular, the district has prioritized investment in connecting infrastructure and rural infrastructure, in line with the economic restructuring and urbanization process. Many important projects and roads connecting major national and provincial transportation axes, urban planning areas, and tourist areas and destinations in the district have been invested in, thereby creating favorable conditions for trade, strengthening regional linkages, and effectively serving socio-economic development.

The people of Quang Xuong not only possess a revolutionary tradition, strong will, and determination to strive for progress, but are also very generous, knowing how to integrate themselves into the common good and sacrificing personal interests to achieve great goals. Therefore, Quang Xuong district is one of the leading districts in the province's land donation movement for road construction in recent years... A new look and renewed vitality in the revolutionary countryside of Thanh Hoa province are continuing to write the glorious story of Thanh Hoa in the new era. Thanh Hoa has been making steady efforts to become a new growth pole, along with Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh, forming a quadrilateral of development in the North of the country. In the first six months of 2024 alone, Thanh Hoa's GRDP growth rate is estimated at 11.5%, ranking first in the North Central region and third nationwide. State budget revenue is estimated at 27,348 billion VND, an increase of 29.6% compared to the same period, reaching 76.9% of the projected target. Thanh Hoa has become an ideal land, attracting "eagles" to "nest". The province has attracted 59 direct investment projects (including 12 FDI projects), with a total registered investment capital of 10,905 billion VND and 177.5 million USD. There was a 78.8% increase in the number of projects and a 25.3% increase in registered capital compared to the same period last year.
