Promoting the tradition of a culturally rich countryside, Viet Thuan commune (Vu Thu) has paid attention to taking care of the spiritual and cultural life of the people with meaningful programs and activities. The emulation movement taking place vigorously in the commune has become a highlight in the socio-economic development of the locality.
Viet Thuan commune rowing club is active in contributing to preserving traditional culture.
It has become a habit that every Saturday and Sunday at 8 pm, members of the Viet Thuan commune Cheo Club gather at the commune People's Committee hall for activities. Cheo singing along with the sound of wooden fish and drums resounds like an indispensable "spiritual food" for local people every village festival. The Cheo Club was established in 2018, and now has 21 members, actively participating in competitions and cultural exchanges organized by the commune and district.
Ms. Luu Thi Bich Nhuong, Head of the Cheo Club of Viet Thuan commune, is 71 years old, but her voice is still sweet and warm and she is still passionate about traditional art, passing on her craft to the younger generation.
Ms. Nhuong shared: The brothers and sisters in the Cheo Club are all simple workers, sharing the same love and passion for Cheo and the desire to use Cheo singing to praise their homeland, country and working people. The Club always receives the attention of the Party Committee, the commune government and the positive response of the local people, attracting many ages to participate, being a place for activities and a healthy playground to both continue traditional culture and improve their health. This summer, our Cheo Club is teaching Cheo singing to children in the commune. I teach the children with simple, easy-to-remember beats and rhythms, and after a few sessions, the children who know nothing about Cheo can also sing Cheo. I always hope that the Cheo Club will develop, have the next generation to continue and preserve the traditional Cheo art of my homeland Thai Binh.
Up to now, the whole commune has had over 20 active art and sports clubs in 9 villages, of which 3 clubs were established by association organizations. 100% of villages have football and folk dance teams that regularly operate effectively, attracting all ages to participate. Each person chooses a suitable sport to practice, of which football, folk dance, and volleyball attract the most people. To encourage, motivate and improve the cultural and spiritual life of the people, the commune regularly organizes friendly men's football tournaments between football teams in the villages every year and receives enthusiastic response from the people.
Mr. Bui Van Noi, Viet Tien village shared: As a person who is passionate about sports, especially football, every day in the late afternoon after work, my brothers and I often practice at the village football field. The brothers in the village actively participate in many tournaments organized by the commune. Participating in sports activities, I feel better health, more comfortable spirit, these activities also help people strengthen solidarity.
Viet Thuan Commune Stadium is equipped with goals, lighting systems, and nets from socialized sources.
In residential areas, culture and sports have become practical activities in people's daily lives. Community stadiums and cultural houses are always bustling with clubs and teams participating in sports activities. Among them, young men and children practice and play football and volleyball, women participate in singing and dancing, and the elderly choose to take care of their health with health exercises.
Mr. Bui Cong Nam, Vice Chairman of Viet Thuan Commune People's Committee said: Implementing the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" and the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", the Party Committee and the commune government always pay attention to directing and creating motivation to promote the emulation movement to develop more and more. The whole commune has 9/9 villages recognized as meeting the standards of cultural villages. Along with building a cultural life, the commune also pays attention to building cultural and sports institutions, creating community living spaces for people, contributing significantly to improving the quality of cultural activities in the locality. Up to now, 100% of villages have cultural houses and sports grounds. In particular, focusing on promoting socialized resources is a highlight in the work of building and improving the spiritual and cultural life of local people. From socialized resources, art and sports clubs are increasingly developing, organizing many exchange activities during holidays, Tet, and national solidarity days, creating a healthy playground for local people; preserving traditional cultural values and local identity, while helping to connect people in residential areas, contributing to maintaining political security and social order in the area.
