The delegation visited and worked at the German Army's United Nations Peacekeeping Training Center.
Here, the delegation was introduced to the structure, organization and tasks of the center, and observed some drill situations of the United Nations military observer course.
Colonel Werner Klaffus, the center's commander, said the military observer training course organized by the center has been certified by the United Nations and a number of prestigious organizations as meeting standards, and is considered a model for countries sending troops to participate in UN peacekeeping operations to learn from.

After observing some drill situations in the training course, Major General Pham Manh Thang said that the cooperation in the field of peacekeeping between Vietnam and European countries, especially with Germany, has been developing positively.
Major General Pham Manh Thang expressed his hope that the two sides will continue to have rich and effective cooperation activities in the coming time, focusing on delegation exchanges, lecturers, experts, and students participating in peacekeeping training courses organized by both sides.
In particular, the Vietnam Peacekeeping Department is gradually building courses that meet United Nations standards and are recognized, to be proactive in training forces of Vietnam and partner countries.
Major General Pham Manh Thang also expressed his hope that Germany would share information and experience on this issue, first of all a military observer training course.
“The Vietnam Peacekeeping Department is ready to welcome German peacekeeping expert delegations to visit and work at the department to continue expanding and enhancing cooperation,” Major General Pham Manh Thang affirmed.

Colonel Werner Klaaffus highly appreciated the remarkable achievements of the Vietnamese forces after just over 10 years of participating in United Nations peacekeeping operations.
Colonel Werner Klaaffus also expressed his desire to develop and improve the effectiveness of cooperation activities in the field of peacekeeping with Vietnam, agreeing with the proposed cooperation direction proposed by the Vietnamese side.
