According to Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam, there is potential for multi-sectoral cooperation between Vietnam and Germany in ensuring food safety throughout the entire production chain.
On the morning of March 12, the opening ceremony of AGRITECHNICA ASIA Vietnam 2025 with the theme Green Innovation took place in Ho Chi Minh City.
AGRITECHINCA ASIA Vietnam 2025 is organized by the German Agricultural Association (DLG) in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment from March 12-14, 2025 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City.
In his opening speech, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam affirmed that the AGRITECHNICA ASIA Vietnam 2025 event plays an important role in the effort to promote innovation, creativity, and development of the mechanical sector towards green and sustainable agriculture.
Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam highly appreciated the potential for multi-sectoral cooperation between Vietnam and Germany in ensuring food safety throughout the production chain, improving training capacity associated with practice, and introducing advances in mechanization and digital transformation.

Also at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam said that the GDP growth of the entire Vietnamese agricultural sector in 2024 will reach 3.3%. Agriculture continues to affirm its position as a pillar of the economy , contributing significantly to stabilizing the macro economy; the agricultural product consumption market continues to expand with a total export value of over 62 billion USD.
According to Mr. Nam, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment is focusing resources on directing the effective implementation of the Project "Sustainable development of 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission specialized rice associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta by 2030". Thereby, aiming at sustainable development of the rice industry through reorganizing production, associated with synchronous mechanization in the entire industry value chain.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment highly appreciated the initiative to organize AGRITECHNICA ASIA every two years in Vietnam. This activity will promote innovation, creativity and exchange between manufacturers, distributors with farmers and organizations applying mechanization in agricultural production and business.
This is also one of the important solutions that the agricultural sector has identified as needing to be implemented in the coming time to move towards a green, modern, and sustainably developed agriculture.

This year, the event focuses on green innovation, aiming at sustainable farming products, processes and models, to address major challenges such as climate change, resource scarcity and competitive pressure in the market.
In addition, 20 programs and events on the sidelines of the exhibition will provide multi-dimensional perspectives on policy, science, production practices, encouraging productivity improvement and environmental responsibility.

Ms. Katharina Riehn - Vice President of DLG said that DLG is always a pioneer, contributing to the development of global agriculture through connecting with farmers, scientists, policy makers and businesses. At the same time, participating in developing regulations, inspecting agricultural machinery to ensure the highest quality and performance, sharing knowledge and maintaining a platform for continuous connection and innovation.
Ms. Katharina pledged to work with institutes and schools in Vietnam to introduce new aspects in the field of food safety, contributing to many changes in the production value chain in Vietnam.
