Previously, Sunny Optical became the main lens supplier for the iPhone 14 series launched in 2022. However, the company later lost the order due to production-related issues.

It is currently unclear whether Sunny Optical is the only partner in Apple's supply chain or just one of the units supplying camera components for the 2025 MacBook Pro. If the past problems are resolved, iPhone orders may soon return to this company as well.
“From the second half of 2024, iPhone orders will gradually return to Sunny Optical. The company has been actively communicating with Apple and improving production operations,” Kuo said.
According to Apple Insider , Apple is working with partners to boost production in Vietnam. This move is part of a strategy to expand production lines to many other countries and reduce dependence on China.
In recent years, Apple has been trying to boost the production of its product lines outside of China. Accordingly, Vietnam and India are the two countries that this technology giant is targeting to build new assembly facilities.
In August 2022, Foxconn, one of Apple's largest manufacturing partners, signed a $300 million memorandum of understanding to expand its manufacturing operations in northern Vietnam.
The group's new factory is located on a 50.5-hectare plot of land in Bac Giang province, and will create about 30,000 local jobs.

In June 2023, Compal Electronics, a major manufacturing partner for the iPad and Apple Watch lines, revealed that the company had reached an agreement to lease land to build a new factory “to expand production capacity” in Vietnam. The factory is known to be located in the Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park, Thai Binh Province.
Compal Electronics has previously manufactured some Apple products at its Vinh Phuc factory. According to a report from JPMorgan , factories in Vietnam will produce about 20% of all iPads and Apple Watches by 2025. Meanwhile, the expected output of MacBooks is 5% and AirPods is 65%.
