The forum “Innovation in approach to improve Vietnam’s healthcare” organized by Pharma Group provides valuable information on research, invention and experience sharing, making practical contributions to realizing the development goal of Vietnam’s medical and pharmaceutical industry.

Speaking at the Forum, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Lien Huong said that according to Decision 1165/QD-TTg recently approved by the Prime Minister on the national strategy for the development of Vietnam's pharmaceutical industry until 2030 and vision to 2045, the Strategy shows the orientation for the development of the pharmaceutical industry and domestically produced medicinal materials to a high level towards the production of original brand-name drugs, drugs with new and modern dosage forms, biological drugs, striving to reach level 4 according to the WHO classification; building a digital data ecosystem and establishing a digital health platform in the pharmaceutical sector...
To achieve the above goals and orientations in the coming time, the leaders of the Ministry of Health said that the Ministry always promotes international cooperation in the pharmaceutical field, including sharing copyright and technology as a key solution, to create a favorable environment and conditions for the domestic pharmaceutical industry to develop and participate in global pharmaceutical value chains.
Vietnam is considered an attractive destination for multinational pharmaceutical corporations to establish pharmaceutical production and trading facilities, including establishing drug production facilities for export to other countries.
"The Ministry of Health believes that there is still a lot of room to exploit commercial potential in the pharmaceutical sector; opportunities for cooperation and development of pharmaceutical enterprises still lie ahead," Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Lien Huong emphasized.

Along with inspiring presentations, lively discussions with multi-dimensional perspectives from scientists, doctors, policy makers, and businesses, the program took place in two morning and afternoon sessions, suggesting new approaches to create breakthroughs in the development of the medical and pharmaceutical industry: Strengthening research capacity, clinical trials and new drug development; Applying high technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI) and real-world data management to R&D and improving health system management capacity; Attracting investment through the legal environment, through preferential policies for scientific research activities, technology transfer, high-tech application...
The event also marks the 25th year that Pharma Group and its members have accompanied the Vietnamese healthcare industry towards the goal of a healthy, prosperous and sustainable Vietnam based on innovation.
Dr. Emin Turan, Chairman of Pharma Group, shared: “Vietnam has full potential in creating an environment that promotes innovation with a high-quality and hard-working workforce. Based on its existing potential and by filtering international experiences and current trends, Vietnam can completely aim to improve healthcare and become a center of science and innovation in the region.

As the demand for healthcare in Vietnam continues to grow, innovation in the healthcare sector plays a vital role in improving the quality of healthcare, enhancing the ability to diagnose and treat diseases, and promoting progress in medical research.
In addition, the application of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, data analysis, virtual reality, blockchain and robotics has been widely applied in healthcare to help save time, costs, and improve the quality of life and human health.
In addition, accessing and promoting innovation and development in the healthcare sector is also an important factor in the process of restructuring and improving Vietnam's healthcare system to better meet future challenges.
At the Forum, healthcare experts discussed the role of solutions to enhance innovation and creativity in the healthcare sector along with international experiences in digital transformation and healthcare data management. In addition, discussions on the context of innovation and creativity along with the benefits and challenges of digital transformation in healthcare in Vietnam were also of interest.
In addition, the Forum also opened a dialogue on proposed roadmaps and policies to realize Vietnam's healthcare goals and vision for the pharmaceutical industry, including the orientation of the new National Strategy for the development of Vietnam's pharmaceutical industry to 2030 and vision to 2045; sharing of pharmaceutical industry development in Ireland - one of the world's leading pharmaceutical exporting countries; the role of digital transformation in building industry development strategies; and applying lessons learned from other economies to globalize Vietnam's biopharmaceutical industry.
Experts affirm that innovation is the key to development in Vietnam in general and the healthcare sector in particular, bringing great benefits to patients, healthcare providers and the overall healthcare system. Innovation helps improve the quality of care, increase access to services, optimize the management and use of healthcare resources, as well as discover and develop new developments in medical research.
Enhancing research and development capabilities, building a diverse healthcare ecosystem, strengthening healthcare capacity and human resources, and promoting partnerships and solutions, will contribute to building a dynamic, innovative and resilient healthcare sector in Vietnam to address future healthcare challenges.
