Vietnam participates in activities on ASEAN Family Day in Belgium

On October 7, at the Indonesian Embassy in Brussels, ASEAN Family Day took place - an event organized by the ASEAN Committee in Brussels (ABC) to strengthen solidarity among the embassies of ASEAN countries in Belgium.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of ASEAN Family Day, Ambassador Soe Lynn Han of Myanmar - the country currently holding the position of ABC Chair, said that ASEAN Family Day is an international commemorative day held annually in the ASEAN region, emphasizing the important role of families in building and maintaining peace, stability and sustainable development in the entire ASEAN region.

Families are considered the foundation of society, and creating a strong family environment has a great impact on the development of individuals and communities. On ASEAN Family Day, member states remind everyone of the importance of building strong and happy families.

This is truly a festival of the ASEAN community in Brussels with many activities organized to create opportunities for people to share experiences and learn about how to improve family relationships, as well as how to promote understanding and respect for each other in a diverse society.

The festival opened with an exciting game of "Who eats the cake faster" with the participation of ASEAN Ambassadors in Brussels and representatives of the European External Action Service (EEAS). The cultural program, although "homegrown", was very attractive.

Each Embassy brought to the Festival traditional songs and dances of their country. Normally, the Embassy staff are all diplomats, but in this event, they transformed into professional actors.

Vietnamese fried spring rolls are popular with international friends.

ASEAN Family Day also serves as an opportunity to promote cooperation and exchange among ASEAN member countries in improving the quality of family life and promoting positive family values. These activities provide opportunities for learning from each other and sharing best practices to promote harmony and sustainable development.

After the sports and cultural activities, guests enjoyed unique ASEAN cuisine. ASEAN embassies brought to the Festival dishes imbued with the national identity of their countries. Vietnamese fried spring rolls are loved and highly appreciated by ASEAN and international friends.

ASEAN Family Day is not only a celebration but also demonstrates ASEAN's commitment to enhancing the importance of families in society and the development of the Southeast Asian region.
