Vietnam ready to join efforts to resolve Russia-Ukraine conflict

(Dan Tri) - Vietnam is ready to join the international community's efforts to promote dialogue and seek peaceful solutions to soon end the conflict in Ukraine.


On the afternoon of February 13, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the press asked Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang to comment on the information that Vietnam could provide a venue for negotiations to find a peaceful solution to end the conflict in Ukraine.

The spokesperson affirmed that Vietnam supports the mediation efforts of the international community to find a lasting peaceful solution to the conflict, with the participation of relevant parties, in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter.

"We are also ready to join the international community's efforts to promote dialogue and seek peaceful solutions to soon end the current conflict," said Ms. Hang.

In January, on the occasion of attending the 55th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Switzerland, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Ukrainian President Zelensky.

The two leaders affirmed their importance to the traditional friendship and cooperation, comprehensive partnership and cooperation between Vietnam and Ukraine, and wished to maintain and promote bilateral cooperation, including the exchange of delegations at all levels.

The two sides continue to seek effective and appropriate measures to maintain growth momentum and soon restore trade exchanges between the two countries, and resume the activities of the Intergovernmental Committee on Economic and Trade Cooperation.

The Prime Minister emphasized Vietnam's balanced, objective and consistent stance on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which is that all disputes need to be resolved by peaceful means, in accordance with the fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations Charter.

This includes respecting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries, not using force or threatening to use force, and taking into account the legitimate interests of the parties involved, according to the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister supports the mediation efforts of the international community to seek a lasting peaceful solution to the conflict with the participation of all parties concerned, in accordance with international law and the United Nations Charter.

At the same time, Vietnam is ready to join the efforts of the international community to promote dialogue and seek peaceful solutions to soon end the current conflict.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that as a responsible member of the international community, Vietnam hosted the second US-North Korea summit and is ready to provide a venue and make the best efforts to organize activities to find peaceful solutions to conflicts in the world.
