According to the spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the suspension of USAID support projects, especially the project to clear post-war bombs and mines and to clean up Bien Hoa airport, will have a strong impact on human safety and the environment in the project areas.
On February 13, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Pham Thu Hang answered a reporter's question asking for Vietnam's reaction to the United States suspending support projects of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Ms. Hang said that Vietnam is very interested in the US's decisions regarding the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Over the years, through various mechanisms and forms of cooperation, including USAID, the two countries have cooperated effectively in many areas such as health, education, environment, climate change, disaster relief, especially in dealing with the consequences of war.
US aid projects are effective in many provinces and cities across Vietnam and bring better lives to each person who benefits from the projects.
"The suspension of USAID support projects, especially those on clearing bombs, explosives left over from the war and detoxifying Bien Hoa airport, will have a strong impact on human safety and the environment in the project areas," said Ms. Hang.
According to the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, the recent support activities of the US side and cooperation of Vietnam in searching for US soldiers missing in action during the war have had practical significance, contributing to strengthening the friendship between the people of the two countries, consolidating trust, building good relations between Vietnam and the US, and are even more meaningful in the context of the two countries celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
In the coming time, Vietnam hopes to continue to implement these cooperative activities effectively and substantially with the United States, contributing to the stable and long-term development of the bilateral relationship in accordance with the spirit of the Joint Statement on upgrading the relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership for peace, cooperation and sustainable development.
