On the morning of September 23, the Central Lung Hospital organized a meeting with the Reviving Lungs to congratulate the successful lung transplants.
Since 2020, the Central Lung Hospital has mastered and successfully coordinated lung transplant techniques.
This is the most difficult technique in the field of organ transplantation, requiring strict coordination of all departments, specialized departments, procedures for preparing the donor's lungs, transplant surgery, post-transplant care and resuscitation using advanced techniques...

To date, the hospital has successfully performed 3 lung transplants. Of which, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Toai is the patient with the longest survival time after lung transplant in Vietnam, more than 4 years. This year alone, the hospital has performed 2 lung transplants for 2 female patients PAT and TTH.
These two transplants were performed with the participation of online consultations of leading experts at the UCSF Lung Transplant Center, University of California, San Francisco, USA. This is one of the most prestigious medical centers in the world. The transplants also had the support of leading experts from many hospitals.
The third lung transplant for a patient with TTH is a more complex and difficult lung transplant because the patient has many serious underlying diseases. At the same time, the anatomical structure is difficult, requiring high technical skills of surgical experts.
The process of resuscitation and post-operative care is complicated, requiring close monitoring, timely intervention, and close, comprehensive coordination between many specialties.
Up to now, the patient's health has recovered well and he will soon be discharged from the hospital.
With these successes, our country's lung transplant program will be recognized in the list of lung transplant systems in the world.

Dr. Dinh Van Luong, Director of the Central Lung Hospital, said that in the future, the Central Lung Hospital hopes to build and develop a regional lung transplant center. At the same time, it will become an address to receive, manage and implement lung transplant techniques for patients in Vietnam and other countries in the region.
The Central Lung Hospital is just a link, a basic nucleus. The success of lung transplants is the participation of all leading experts in Vietnamese medicine. It is also the coordination of the entire system of the most modern equipment of specialized hospitals, the excellent coordination of the national organ transplant coordination system.
"Vietnam will become a country with a name on the world map of lung transplants and so we will have a lot of work to do," Dr. Luong shared.
