At the talks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin agreed to promote cooperation in transport connectivity, including maritime, railway and urban transport.
The talks took place after the official welcoming ceremony on the afternoon of January 14 at the Government Headquarters. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on his first official visit to Vietnam, kicking off the year celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Expressing his delight at visiting Vietnam, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishutin emphasized that the visit is an important occasion for the two governments to review the agreements reached between the two countries' senior leaders in recent times and to carry out specific tasks to develop bilateral cooperation effectively and substantially in the coming time.
The two sides agreed to continue to strengthen dialogue and consolidate political trust, noting that bilateral trade turnover has achieved positive growth in recent times, however, there is still much room for exploitation.
The two Prime Ministers agreed on the need for breakthrough solutions to increase the value of two-way trade, including effectively utilizing the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union, of which Russia is a member; continuing to study and create conditions for opening the door for each other's goods such as agricultural products, pharmaceuticals, etc.
Discussing measures to enhance cooperation in the tourism sector, the two Prime Ministers affirmed: "The resumption of regular direct flights and charter flights between the two countries has contributed to boosting the number of tourists between the two countries."
The two sides also agreed to promote cooperation in transport connectivity, including maritime, railway and urban transport.

Regarding remaining issues, the two Prime Ministers assigned relevant ministries and branches of Vietnam and Russia to discuss, research and advise on solutions in the spirit of ensuring harmony of interests of all parties.
Discussing international and regional issues of mutual concern and cooperation at international forums, the two sides affirmed to continue to closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh asked Russia to support the assurance of security, safety, freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea, and the settlement of disputes by peaceful means on the basis of international law and the United Nations Charter, especially the 1982 UNCLOS.
After the talks, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a Joint Communique on the results of the Russian Prime Minister's official visit to Vietnam and witnessed the signing of a number of cooperation documents in the fields of science, information and communication, culture, etc.
