On the afternoon of August 7, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue met with Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives Tan Sri Dato' Johari Bin Abdul, on the occasion of attending the 44th General Assembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA-44) in Jakarta, Indonesia.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated Malaysia's contributions at the AIPA-44 General Assembly, especially the speech by the Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives.
Sharing his good impressions of the recent meeting with the Malaysian Prime Minister during his official visit to Vietnam, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that the relationship between the two legislative bodies needs to be further promoted to match the strategic partnership between the two countries, especially the exchange of high-level delegations and all levels, sharing of experiences, and learning from each other.
Affirming that Vietnam highly appreciates Malaysia's role and position in the region, the National Assembly Chairman said that the two countries still have much potential and room for cooperation in many fields, including Party, National Assembly, Government and people-to-people diplomacy channels.
In this spirit, the National Assembly Chairman respectfully invites the Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives Tan Sri Dato' Johari Bin Abdul to visit Vietnam soon so that the two sides can discuss ways to strengthen the bilateral parliamentary relationship commensurate with the relationship between the two countries; exchange experiences in parliamentary activities and issues of mutual concern; continue to promote the mechanism of close coordination and mutual support at multilateral parliamentary forums such as AIPA, the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) and other multilateral parliamentary organizations; support each other's stance on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

Malaysian House of Representatives Speaker Tan Sri Dato' Johari Bin Abdul affirmed that the two countries have a close, long-standing relationship; emphasizing that this century is the century of Asia and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) has great potential for cooperation not only in Asia but also in the world with many strong areas of cooperation such as renewable energy.
Therefore, the two countries have many opportunities to promote cooperation and Malaysia will make the most of this opportunity to cooperate with Vietnam in many fields, including cultural and educational cooperation.
Expressing his admiration for the country and people of Vietnam and his eagerness to visit Vietnam, the Speaker of the Malaysian House of Representatives happily accepted the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to soon pay an official visit to Vietnam.
This is the final activity, successfully concluding the official visit to the Republic of Indonesia and attendance at the 44th AIPA General Assembly by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly, before departing for an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
