(NLDO) - Vietnam welcomes the US removing Cuba from the "list of countries believed to sponsor terrorism"
On January 17, in response to a reporter's question asking about Vietnam's reaction to the US removing Cuba from the "list of countries sponsoring terrorism", Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang stated that Vietnam welcomes the US Government's decision on January 14 to remove Cuba from the US State Department's "list of countries believed to sponsor terrorism" along with a number of steps towards easing the embargo against Cuba.
"Vietnam's consistent stance is to strongly support efforts towards normalizing Cuba-US relations, including the US completely ending its embargo measures against Cuba in accordance with relevant resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly, for the legitimate interests of the Cuban people, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the Americas and the world," the Spokesperson said.
