After the national qualifying rounds of the Summoners War SEA Tournament in Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and the English-speaking region in Southeast Asia, 2 Vietnamese teams, PooLD - Sphynx and MeowRin - Zoro, entered the final round among the 8 strongest teams in the region. Both teams carried the Vietnamese flag through the Quarterfinals to advance to the Semifinals to face 2 highly rated Thai teams. If MeowRin/Zoro stopped at the Semifinals and received 3rd place overall, PooLD and Sphynx brought glory to the Vietnamese people when they defeated 2 Thai opponents ViolexClas and Judas with an overwhelming score of 3-1.
The 2vs2 SEA Tournament is the first tournament held on a Southeast Asian scale with a prize value of up to 100 million VND. In this tournament, players need to find a compatible teammate to smoothly combine monsters and pick to gain an advantage in the arena.
Sharing his feelings after the victory, PooLD said: "PooLD is very happy to have been able to defeat opponents with a strong lineup of monsters in the region. Hopefully, large-scale 2vs2 tournaments will continue to be held in the future, and PooLD can accompany Sphynx to represent Vietnam. Thank you for the support of the Summoners."
Not just a turn-based strategy game, Summoners War has transformed into eSports over the past 7 years with tournaments ranging from continental to global. Not out of the game, Vietnamese players are increasingly asserting their position in international tournaments with names always ranking high on the World Arena rankings.
