Vietnam team entered the top 5 best teams in the Bocuse d'Or selection round in the Asia-Pacific region.
On the morning of October 25, at the French Palace in Ho Chi Minh City, a press conference was held to introduce and honor the Vietnamese Bocuse d'Or team.
Dubbed the “Olympics of the culinary world”, Bocuse d'Or is a playground for the world's most talented chefs, where teams not only need to be creative but also demonstrate outstanding skills in every small detail.
This year, for the first time, Vietnam has the honor of participating in the final round of this prestigious culinary competition, taking place from January 25 to 27, 2025 in Lyon, France.
In the Asia-Pacific qualifying round, the Vietnamese team, including head chef Vu Xuan Truong, assistant chef Nguyen Quang Tam and coach Daniel Nguyen, made a strong impression with creative dishes imbued with traditional Vietnamese flavors and techniques.
The main theme is the spirit of the story of Lac Long Quan and Au Co.
Sharing at the event, chef Vu Xuan Truong said he was very happy to represent Vietnam to attend the Bocuse d'Or finals in France for the first time.
The joy also comes with a lot of pressure, but he affirms that he will try his best and seize the opportunity to promote the unique culinary values of Vietnam to the world.
Mr. Sakal Phoeung, President of the Bocuse d'Or Association of Vietnam, is proud of the team that has overcome strong opponents from the region to reach the final round.
In her speech, Ms. Emmanuelle Pavillon-Grosser, Consul General of France in Ho Chi Minh City, expressed her support and great expectations for the Vietnamese team in the upcoming competition in Lyon.
She emphasized the importance of the Bocuse d'Or competition not only for the participating chefs, but also for the cuisine of each country, as it is an opportunity to bring culinary culture to the world.
The upcoming Bocuse d'Or competition in Lyon is a valuable opportunity for the Vietnamese team to continue to shine, but it is also full of challenges when having to compete with top talented chefs from countries with long-standing culinary traditions such as France, Japan, Australia and Singapore.
Bocuse d'Or is one of the most prestigious culinary competitions in the world, founded by legendary French chef Paul Bocuse.
