On August 3, the India International Food and Hospitality Exhibition (IHE) 2024 opened at the India Exhibition and Convention Center in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Notably, Vietnam was chosen as the partner country of IHE this year.

Participating in IHE 2024 are Indian Minister of Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Myanmar Ambassador Moe Kyaw Aung, Vietnamese Trade Counselor Bui Trung Thuong, Chairman of the India Fair and Exhibition Center - Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Director of Aakar Exhibition - Premal Mehta ... along with many local officials, domestic and foreign business leaders.
Inaugurating the Exhibition, Minister Shekhawat said that the event has played a significant role in promoting the Indian hospitality industry over the past six years and has highlighted the potential of the hospitality industry globally. IHE is not just an exhibition, but also a focal point for the hospitality industry, bringing together industry professionals and associates to network, exchange ideas, share knowledge and achieve success at the international level.
Minister Shekhawat said that tourism has the potential to contribute to making India the third largest economy in the world. India has all the resources to create a world-class tourism industry. “The Government of India is committed to developing the tourism and hospitality sector with excellence,” he said.
Besides, Minister Shekhawat also emphasized the significance of IHE 2024 in shaping the future of Indian tourism industry and addressing shortcomings to promote development.

Also at the opening ceremony, the Chairman of the India Exhibition and Convention Centre, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, hailed the significance of the event, saying that “this exhibition will set new milestones for the Indian economy” in the context of the South Asian country’s “successful hosting of the G20 Summit and our commitment to the theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ – The World is One Family.”
At the opening ceremony, Vietnam was chosen as a partner country of IHE 2024, with activities such as organizing product promotion booths, organizing a Food Festival and Vietnamese culinary performances performed by famous chefs.
After the opening ceremony, the Vietnam Trade Office in India inaugurated the Vietnam Pavilion in the presence of Minister Shekhawat, leaders of ministries, departments, associations, industries, businesses, and Indian, Vietnamese and international press.

The Vietnamese booth attracted a lot of attention and appreciation from Indian companies and other countries as well as visitors to the fair. Products displayed at the booth included typical items such as instant noodles, pho, coffee, tourism services, aviation with the participation of Vietnamese enterprises such as UNIBEN, Vietnam Airlines, Viettravel... contributing to promoting Vietnamese culinary and tourism products and services, increasing exports, developing the market in India in particular and the world in general.
This is an important opportunity for Vietnam to promote its unique culture, cuisine, high-quality tourism and aviation services, and at the same time, an opportunity for our businesses to expand trade connections and enhance their presence in the regional and international food market.
The four-day event is attended by around 1,000 exhibitors from the food, restaurant, hotel and tourism sectors from India and abroad, along with over 20,000 visitors.
