DNVN - Vietnam is a rapidly growing international destination for AirAsia, which continues to launch new routes connecting Vietnam to popular destinations.
Recently announced new routes include flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh starting from December 22, 2024 and from Hanoi to Phnom Penh expected to operate from January 24, 2025.
Previously, flights from Phu Quoc to Bangkok (Don Mueang Airport) were put back into operation from October 27, flights from Da Lat to Kuala Lumpur were also resumed on November 1 and the first direct flight connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Kota Kinabalu launched on December 3, 2024.
AirAsia is increasingly expanding its business in Vietnam.
Regarding the expansion plan, Mr. Paul Carroll, Group Chief Commercial Officer of AirAsia, emphasized AirAsia's commitment to increasing connectivity to Vietnam at affordable prices. After resuming flights to Vietnam post-COVID-19, AirAsia is expected to bring more than 1.7 million seats annually to the 'Land of the Flying Dragon' by launching five new routes based on strong demand from the market.
On the occasion of the launch of flights from Cambodia to Vietnam, Mr. Vissoth Nam, CEO of AirAsia Cambodia said: “We are delighted to add Vietnam to AirAsia Cambodia’s rapidly growing network of international destinations. As the newest low-cost airline in Cambodia, having launched in May this year, we are seeing strong demand for our services both within and outside the ASEAN region. While Cambodia and Vietnam have many similarities, they also have their differences, offering unique and affordable experiences that are loved by both locals in both countries and global visitors to the region.”
