From March 17-20, Vietnamese Ambassador to Greece Pham Thi Thu Huong visited Central Macedonia, Greece.

During the visit, Ambassador Pham Thi Thu Huong met and worked with the Governor of Central Macedonia, Deputy Mayor of Thessaloniki; Vice President of Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Macedonia - Thrace, Executive Vice President of the Federation of Greek Industries in Thessaloniki.

With a population of nearly 2 million, Central Macedonia is the second largest region of Greece with its capital being Thessaloniki, the second largest city in Greece and a major economic center in the Balkans region.

Ambassador Pham Thi Thu Huong met with the Deputy Mayor of Thessaloniki.

At the meetings, the two sides discussed strengthening connections between localities, businesses and people of the two countries.

Greece highly appreciated the development achievements that Vietnam has made and expressed its willingness to promote cooperation and linkage between universities in the region and the city with universities in Vietnam, thereby providing knowledgeable and skilled human resources for both countries.

Ambassador Pham Thi Thu Huong met with Vice President of the Thessaloniki Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Business associations in Thessaloniki are interested in the Vietnamese market, wish to promote cooperation in the field of agricultural and industrial products and hope that the Embassy will support the organization of a roundtable discussion connecting businesses of the two countries.

Visiting businesses employing Vietnamese workers, Ambassador Pham Thi Thu Huong encouraged workers to focus on their work, unite, support each other and preserve the image of Vietnamese people in the host country.

The Ambassador requested that employers pay attention to and support Vietnamese workers, ensure security and safety, create favorable conditions for Vietnamese workers to live and continue to accept Vietnamese workers to work here.

Visiting Ampelakia city, Thessaly region, one of 13 regions of Greece, Ambassador Pham Thi Thu Huong had a working lunch with the Mayor of Ampelakia, the Ampelakia Agricultural Association - the first agricultural association of Greece and agricultural production and export enterprises of the region.
