The ASEAN Digital Awards 2024 were presented on February 1, within the framework of the 4th ASEAN Digital Ministers Meeting held in Singapore.

ASEAN Digital Awards, formerly known as ASEAN ICT Awards – AICTA, is one of the largest and most prestigious awards for software and IT solutions from ASEAN countries. The award has been held annually since 2012. The nominations are judged and evaluated based on many strict criteria by the Jury, which is composed of leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications from 10 ASEAN countries.

After a 1-year hiatus, the ASEAN Digital Awards returned, attracting a large number of nominations in all 6 categories including public sector, private sector, digital inclusion, digital innovation, digital content, and digital startups.

According to the announcement from the Organizing Committee, out of 18 awards in 6 categories, Vietnamese enterprises won 4 awards in 3 categories covering digital inclusion, digital innovation and digital content, including 1 Silver award by MobiFone in the digital inclusion category with the digital agriculture platform mobiAgri; 1 Gold award in the digital innovation category by VinBrain with the product 'DrAid™ CT liver cancer'.

Notably, in the digital content category, Vietnamese enterprise solutions won 2/3 awards, with 1 Gold award given to the application "ICANKid - Play and learn" by Galaxy Play Company; 1 Silver award went to the online education system VioEdu by FPT IS.

Surpassing two representatives from Singapore and Thailand, VinBrain's product 'DrAid™ Liver Cancer CT' excellently won the Gold Award in the digital innovation category of the ASEAN Digital Awards 2024.

Within this ecosystem, 'DrAid™ Liver Cancer CT' is a pioneering solution that has been nurtured for many years by VinBrain, to support the fight against cancer.

On a global scale, AI-based products in the diagnosis and treatment of liver cancer from multi-phase CT images such as the solution from VinBrain are very rare due to the high requirements for both technology and technical level, and specialized medical knowledge. 'DrAid™ CT Liver Cancer' uses AI technology, computer vision, and the world's most advanced image alignment technologies to detect early abnormal liver tumors from computed tomography (CT) images. With the ability to delimit very small lesions from 5mm, the product not only supports early diagnosis but also helps doctors plan accurate and effective treatment.

This is a pioneering solution that has been systematically developed from research to testing and evaluation at major hospitals in the country and abroad. 'DrAid™ CT Liver Cancer' has scientific evidence as publications in the world's leading prestigious scientific journals such as Nature. The product is currently awaiting certification from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), moving towards successful commercialization in North America, the second product, after the DrAid™ V1 line of diagnostic imaging, which was approved by the FDA in 2022.

As one of four Vietnamese nominees to enter the final round in Singapore on January 31, the online education system VioEdu scored points with 13 judges for its quality digital content, with more than 1 million learning materials, creative approaches and strong infrastructure capable of serving more than 200,000 concurrent users.

In addition, the team has proven the high applicability of the product through impressive indicators of growth and user preference despite being launched at the end of 2019. It is estimated that on average, 1 in 3 Vietnamese students know and use VioEdu for self-study, and tens of thousands of schools from more than 40 provinces and cities in Vietnam participate in the playground, using VioEdu's learning materials and platforms to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

ASEAN Digital Awards emphasizes the widespread and sustainable application of digital products. Therefore, the practical values ​​that VioEdu users receive as well as the readiness of the infrastructure to expand to the Southeast Asian market are highly appreciated by the Jury.

In 2023, VioEdu gave users the right to choose learning content according to current textbooks. In 2024, according to VioEdu representatives, the system will continue to apply AI to the product, launching new learning content, open Q&A forums and online tutoring features.
