The ranking of top quality universities in Asia has just been announced by QS World University Rankings (UK).
Vietnam National University, Hanoi ranked 161st in Asia
On November 6, Quacquarelli Symonds announced the results of the AsiaUniversity Rankings 2025 (QS AUR 2025).
In the 2025 rankings, QS ranked 984 universities in Asia (including 142 universities ranked for the first time). The results are based on an analysis of responses from more than 1.9 million votes from scholars and 660,000 votes from employers worldwide. In addition, QS analyzed more than 175.9 million citations (in the period 2018-2023) from 17.4 million scientific publications (in the period 2018-2022).
In the QS AUR 2025 ranking, Vietnam National University, Hanoi is ranked 161 (up 26 places from 187th in QS AUR 2024) – in the top 17% of universities in Asia.
In addition to Hanoi National University, Vietnam also has 16 other universities that are also ranked. Of these, 2 newly ranked universities are Ho Chi Minh City Open University and Vinh University. The remaining 14 universities are Duy Tan University; Ton Duc Thang University; Ho Chi Minh City National University; Nguyen Tat Thanh University; Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics; Hue University; Hanoi University of Science and Technology; Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education; Da Nang University; Can Tho University; University of Transport; Van Lang University; Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry; Hanoi University of Education.
According to statistics, 984 schools from 29 countries and territories are listed in the ranking of quality universities in Asia recently announced by QS World University Rankings.
Regarding ranking criteria and weights, QS AUR 2025 maintains the same ranking method when evaluating higher education institutions according to 11 indicators:
