Attending the meeting at the Soc Trang province bridge were comrade Vuong Quoc Nam - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; also attending were leaders of provincial departments, branches and districts, towns and Soc Trang city.

According to the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the goal of the planning adjustment is to allocate land resources reasonably, economically and effectively to meet the requirements of continuous double-digit growth, ensure national defense and security, and protect the environment, adapt to climate change; create a foundation for our country to become a developed, high-income country by 2045. Based on the assigned functions and tasks, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has coordinated with relevant ministries and branches to complete the draft report; submission on the adjustment of the National Land Use Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.

The adjustment of the National Land Use Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, is carried out in the spirit of Resolution No. 52/NQ-CP of the Government issued on March 18, 2025. According to the draft Submission to the National Assembly, in 2020, the agricultural land area of ​​the whole country was 27,983.26 thousand hectares, by 2024 the agricultural land area was 27,961.59 thousand hectares and according to the National Land Use Planning approved by the National Assembly in Resolution No. 39/2021/QH15, agricultural land is determined to be 27,732.04 thousand hectares by 2030. The adjustment of the planning of the agricultural land group by 2030 is 26,782.32 thousand hectares. The area of ​​agricultural land after adjustment compared to the approved planning is 949.72 thousand hectares...

Based on the draft report and presentation, the conference delegates discussed and clarified the criteria, purposes, significance and necessity of land use adjustment, especially when implementing the arrangement and merger of administrative units at all levels.

Concluding the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that adjusting land use planning at this time plays a very important role in the country's development. Therefore, the planning adjustment must ensure a long-term, comprehensive vision, meeting the goals of the 10-year Socio-Economic Development Strategy 2021 - 2030, especially the period 2026 - 2030. Therefore, the planning adjustment must ensure comprehensive and synchronous development, creating momentum for socio-economic and cultural development, strengthening national defense and security; well solving the land use needs of industries and fields; orienting development space, land reclamation, sea encroachment... From that reality, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment continues to consult and absorb the comments of delegates at the conference, complete the report and submission; Propose practical solutions to ensure the adjustment, allocation, and rational and effective use of land funds in each industry and field, in accordance with the country's development context.
