[Video] Ho Chi Minh City expands enrollment in specialized 10th grade

NDO - From this school year, Ho Chi Minh City will only enroll students in specialized 10th grade at two specialized high schools, Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted and Tran Dai Nghia High School for the Gifted, and will stop enrolling students in specialized classes at regular schools. Notably, both specialized schools will be expanded to enroll students nationwide instead of just one school as before. Candidates for specialized classes must have good academic performance in grades 6, 7, and 8 and good in grade 9.

After completing the admission exam for specialized and integrated classes, students who have not passed the exam will continue to be considered for admission to regular grade 10 according to their registered wishes.

The city encourages students to choose schools near home and suitable for their abilities for convenient learning.

It is expected that this year, the admission rate to grade 10 public schools in Ho Chi Minh City will reach more than 70%, higher than previous years thanks to the decrease in the number of students and the assignment of quotas based on the actual capacity of the schools./.
