President Luong Cuong’s official visit to Chile and Peru was warmly welcomed by the leaders and people of the two countries. The visit not only focused on political and diplomatic exchanges but also expanded economic cooperation, cultural and educational connections, and new areas of technology and digital transformation. During the meetings, the leaders and people of the two countries emphasized Vietnam’s increasingly important role and position in the international arena.

At the meeting, Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font expressed his admiration for President Ho Chi Minh as well as Vietnam's heroic history of struggle and affirmed: "The achievements in building and developing Vietnam, especially in the renovation process, are valuable experiences that Chile can refer to, serving the country's socio-economic development."

With Chile, the friendship of more than half a century was founded by President Ho Chi Minh and President Salvador Allende, nurtured and especially bonded by rare similarities in history, culture, geography, economic development model and vision of the world today. Throughout the meetings, there were beautiful memories and respect for President Ho Chi Minh by the leaders and people of Chile in particular, and Latin America in general.

Senator Isabel Allende, daughter of President Salvador Allende, could not hide her emotions when sharing with the President her father's memories of his visit to Vietnam in 1969, including the historic meeting with President Ho Chi Minh.

In Peru, presenting the Order of the Sun of Peru, the highest award of the Republic of Peru, to President Luong Cuong, President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra emphasized that Vietnam has had effective policies on economic development, thereby greatly supporting the enhancement of bilateral cooperation; Vietnam's active support contributed significantly to ASEAN's decision to make Peru a "development partner" in early 2024.

The official visit to Chile and Peru, two APEC economies, took place simultaneously with the participation in the APEC 2024 Summit Week, along with a series of high-level meetings between the President and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, US President Joe Biden, Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and many other economic leaders, continuing to affirm Vietnam's position, role and contributions in regional and international forums. Speaking at the APEC 2024 Business Summit, with the theme "Gateway to the Land of Opportunity", the President conveyed a strong message of firm belief in a bright future and affirmed that optimism, daring to think, daring to do, and the ability to discover opportunities even in the most difficult circumstances are the keys to success in a constantly changing and uncertain world.

Now, Vietnam enters a new era, with a new mindset, a strong desire to develop a prosperous and happy country and a firm belief in a bright future.

As a strategic gateway connecting the Southeast Asian, Asia-Pacific and world markets, Vietnam has become an important link in the global value and supply chain and a large, potential market, especially in the context of our country participating in large-scale free trade agreements. Despite many difficulties in the country, Vietnam has always proactively and actively participated and contributed with a constructive spirit and the highest responsibility to common efforts, successfully assuming responsibilities in many important multilateral mechanisms, becoming a bright spot in implementing the Millennium Development Goals and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The President emphasized: “We will participate responsibly and make positive contributions to world politics, the global economy and human civilization in the spirit of Vietnam being a friend, a reliable partner and an active, responsible member of the international community”.

Vietnam's assets include a fast-growing, dynamic economy ranked 34th in the world, a strong, stable political system, and a people-centered approach. Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with 194 countries, a network of 32 Strategic Partnership and Comprehensive Partnership frameworks, including all five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and the G7 economies; trade relations have been expanded with more than 220 countries and territories...

The luggage for the new era is also the effort to reform and open up deeply, creating new development space and confidence of international businesses and investors coming to Vietnam. That was shown when receiving the US-APEC Business Alliance, the President emphasized that Vietnam continues to improve policies to protect intellectual property rights and the interests of businesses; ensuring that all investors are treated equally. Meanwhile, Senior Vice President, US Chamber of Commerce Neil Herrington shared that the presence of many leaders of leading US organizations, corporations and businesses at the reception such as: US-ASEAN Business Council, National APEC Center, Google, Mastercard, VISA, Walmart, Apple, Merck & Co, Organon, P&G, Pfizer... shows the great confidence and desire to expand investment in Vietnam of the US business community and other countries.

The luggage for the new era is also the expansion of Vietnamese enterprises and investors into the international market, in which Viettel Peru Company (Bitel) - a joint venture of the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) in Peru is a typical example. Over the past ten years, Bitel has had the fastest growth rate in the Peruvian telecommunications market, creating jobs for nearly 3,000 official workers and nearly 23,000 indirect workers; average revenue in the last three years reached 420 million USD/year, profit reached 83 million USD/year, in 2024 alone, a new peak was set when the expected profit reached 103 million USD. Visiting and working with Bitel, President Luong Cuong pointed out that Bitel's success shows that Vietnam's potential and intelligence can completely reach out to the world, competing equally in international markets; Bitel's success is Vietnam's success and the Peruvian people's trust in Bitel is their trust in Vietnam.

In that context, the President's foreign affairs activities have continued and opened up new potentials, strongly promoting the building of an independent, confident, self-reliant and self-reliant country, entering an era of the Vietnamese nation's rise, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers.
