This review is based on business travelers (not economy travelers) to rank the best and worst airports worldwide.
The results showed that 14 of the 20 best international airports for business travelers are in Asia and the Middle East. The rest are in Europe.
The best airport is Noi Bai International Airport (Vietnam) with business travelers giving it an average score of 6.80.
"This airport has some amazing facilities, especially the sky building with an observation deck and lots of areas for aviation enthusiasts. The terminals are extremely clean and the staff are very friendly. There are also great dining options," commented Business Financing.
This ranking result received much attention from public opinion in the country.
Aviation expert Pham Ngoc Sau said that each organization has its own evaluation criteria and there should be no concept that one organization's evaluation is more reliable than another.
“Business Travellers, like the World Travel Awards (WTA), will only evaluate one aspect. For example, Van Don in 2019 was also evaluated by WTA as “the world’s leading new airport” – Mr. Sau said, adding that if compared overall, it would be difficult for any airport to surpass Changi Airport.
"When I went to Airshow Singapore 2024, I also talked to Mr. Eugene - CEO of Changi Airports International. This CEO said that in 2023, despite serving 58.9 million passengers, their airport was deserted. The reason is because they use technology to reduce check-in time," Mr. Sau informed.
This expert also acknowledged that the quality of service at airports in Vietnam has increased over the years, with improved management, technology and routes. Airlines also pay great attention to business class.
“In fact, many business class rooms abroad are not as well-groomed as those in Vietnam. For example, Vietjet, Business class, Skyboss... are very well-groomed, with guides and support. When traveling, passengers will feel cared for and looked after. This shows that passenger satisfaction must come from the airport facilities, the airline's policies and the professionalism of the service staff,” said Mr. Sau.
“In aviation, the most important thing is the evaluation by SkyTrax with its strict evaluation standards, from facilities to service quality,” Mr. Sau said.
Skytrax is an air transport rating organisation based in London (UK). Their activities are to research commercial airlines, conduct surveys on international airlines, thereby evaluating the crew, airports, airlines, lounges, meals, seating arrangements... and many other factors of air transport.
In addition, they also evaluate flights, inspect flights, investigate passenger satisfaction with more than 200 airlines and then classify quality based on two professional and standardized systems: World Airline and Airport Rating.
With over 800 rating categories ranging from airport services to in-flight service, Skytrax only gives high ratings to airlines that truly give passengers the service they deserve.
Although there is no cost to any unit to participate in the survey, to attend the award ceremony or to use any logo, award... this is still the most prestigious recognition in aviation services worldwide.
Currently, Noi Bai airport representative has not commented on Business Financing's ranking.
“Any service sector in the aviation industry can be improved, can bring better quality to users, specifically passengers. First of all, it is the quality of the service team, and most importantly, the attitude. If you treat passengers as family, they will know what to do.
The second is to reduce the time for procedures. This can be done by applying new technologies, doing procedures remotely, or changing routes...
Third, reduce flight delays. Flight delays make many people unhappy. There are many reasons for flight delays, in addition to technical and weather issues. For example, insufficient service equipment, staff making mistakes in procedures such as counting the wrong number of passengers... can all lead to flight delays. However, if each link in the service chain sets a goal of reducing flight delays, this problem will be limited," said Mr. Pham Ngoc Sau.
