(Dan Tri) - Police determined that the reason a group of men threatened and assaulted a driver with knives and scissors in front of the gate of Thu Duc City Hospital (HCMC) stemmed from a conflict over booking the wrong ride.
On November 10, Thu Duc City Police identified the group of people involved in the case of a taxi driver being assaulted in front of the hospital gate.
According to the police, the incident stemmed from a conflict over booking the wrong ride. The victim was Mr. BNMN (born 2000, a technology taxi driver). The group of people who assaulted Mr. N. were local residents, living near Thu Duc City Hospital.

On the afternoon of November 3, a group of four men and one woman were drinking at a party in Binh Thanh District, then they booked a technology taxi to Thu Duc City. At that time, driver N. also received a ride with a service package of 4 hours with a maximum distance of 50km (unit price of 700,000 VND) right at the location where the group was standing.
When Mr. N. arrived, the group got into the wrong car with the male driver. Before leaving, Mr. N. confirmed again and the group agreed. The driver himself did not know that he had picked up the wrong passenger.

When the car had traveled about 10km, arriving in front of Thu Duc City Hospital, the group asked to stop the car and pay. At this time, Mr. N. quoted the price of 700,000 VND according to the booked service package, the group immediately started arguing, then took knives and scissors to threaten and assault the male driver.
Through investigation, the authorities invited both sides to work. By noon on November 10, the police brought the group of men and driver N. to the front of Thu Duc City Hospital to reenact the scene.
Tam Phu Ward Police are consolidating the case file and transferring it to the Thu Duc City Police Investigation Agency for handling according to their authority.
